The stupefying insult practically echoed through the whole restaurant. Voices died as heads turned their way.

"Excuse me?" Skylar said, bringing her outstretched arm down. She felt more poleaxed than offended by the sudden burst of antagonism from this woman she'd never met before.

Anthony McGuire held his sister by the shoulder, grabbing her attention. "Sarah, what the hell are you doing?"

She turned to her brother with a pained look. "It is her. She's the woman who destroyed my marriage." When she turned back to Skylar, the hate that emanated from her nearly made her flinch. "It is her."

"I'm sorry, you are talking to the wrong person. I don't even know you." Skylar pointed out, startled by the accusation.

As if seeing Anthony for the first time after what she'd done to him years ago wasn't enough, the woman seemed to be looking to compound her guilt.

"I can never forget that skin colour. That beauty you used to snatch him away from me." Her tone had gotten higher, almost hysterical
