The banquet was going well, the guests were chatting and a series of discussions were held. The king found Diana to be a simple and naive girl and had other plans in mind for her, upon knowing what the latter's father wants.
"So tell me about yourself, young maiden." The king said facing Diana.
She was shocked that the king's question was directed at her and she almost choked. Her father continued pinching her thigh from under the table for her to maintain and not embarrass him. Diana did as she was instructed by her father, and her face brightened up with a smile.
"I'm Diana, a fashion designer in my vicinity." She spoke with so much confidence.
The crown prince was overwhelmed and at the same time displeased. She doesn't fit his standards.
"You're a fashion designer huh?" The king asked, he was interested in this young maiden.
"Yes, I am." She nodded.
"I'm going to promote your business. You'll get to make good clothes for me; the king and other dignitaries." The king smiled gulping his wine.
Diana's father was more than overwhelmed. He was so happy that his daughter's business would move to the highest level as his eldest daughter was just an idle person.
The young maiden's heart was filled with joy. She couldn't wait to break the good news to her lover.
Her father appreciated the King for his effort if only the king would do as he said. "Your Majesty, I know everything comes with a price so please state it."
Diana's jaws dropped. Was the King going to ask for something in return? This was something that she didn't expect.
The old King on the other hand smirked. Yes, nothing good comes without a prince if only they would be willing to pay the price.
"I know your youngest daughter just clicked eighteen and is ready for marriage." The King confirmed, clasping his hand as if going to state a serious business.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Mr. Wilson said with a smile. He thought the King was getting to know the reason he brought his daughter to the Royal banquet.
The King turned to Diana with a smile settling on his face.
"As the rule states, your father would be the one to choose a suitor for you." He then turned to her father. "What suitor do you have in mind for your daughter?"
With this question thrown to him, Mr. Wilson was glad. He cleared his throat to speak. He stared closely at the princes, his daughter, and the King. "Your Majesty, I want my daughter to marry into the Royal family." He said without hesitation.
The crown prince laughed. This was hilarious to him. "How can a common fashion designer marry into the Royal family?" He asked with a hint of mockery in his voice before sipping his wine.
Diana's face went sour.
A common fashion designer! Who would want to marry someone like the crown prince? If only the person was a golddigger and she wasn't, she felt like giving the crown prince a piece of her mind that he'll regret ever downgrading her. Wasn't he the one that asked her for a dance? Such a two-face brat! Diana sneered.
"You need to mind your words brother, she can if possible." The second prince was the one to speak.
He had a gentle aura which Diana loved, unlike the crown prince who was a bully.
It was about time for the king to speak and their eyes were on him. Only the last prince kept eating as if none of it was his concern.
"Sir Wilson, it's possible for your daughter to get married into the Royal family." The King assured.
Mr. Wilson's heart was blessed. He was so excited to the extent that he almost embraced his daughter but he had to maintain proper poise.
The King wasn't done with his words so he continued. "But, my two sons are betrothed to someone else already."
"Which of your sons are you talking about?" Mr. Wilson asked in a dilemma. His happiness has been crushed down by the king's words.
He wanted his daughter to get married to the crown prince so that she can be the future queen of their prestigious Kingdom but it turned out that it wasn't going to work as he had planned.
"My first and second sons." The King confirmed.
The last son was still quiet until when he was done with his meal, his head remained bowed and he didn't move an inch.
"Your Majesty, is the last prince, not your son?" Diana was forced to ask.
The king kept on referring to the crown prince and the second prince as his own but didn't make mention the last prince, which was absurd.
"He's a prodigal son. No one wants him because of his predicament, blind and cursed." The king sneered, he was disgusted and hates referring to the last prince as his son.
Diana wasn't happy with the way the king spoke about his son, his flesh and blood. If the last prince is said to be cursed and blind as the king had just mentioned then the rumors surrounding him are true.
"Sir Wilson, I know you won't be that heartless to marry your daughter off to the last prince." The crown prince blurted. He was so annoying and Diana wished he would shut his mouth.
To her surprise, her father shook his head.
The King came to understand everything that was happening. No one wanted to have anything to do with his last son even though he gave them all the richest in the world. So he decided to try the same thing with Diana and her father.
"You see... I'm going to establish your business if only you marry my last son as that would be the price."
The king's words were heavy and they were all surprised. The last prince himself was in awe but didn't raise his head.
Mr. Wilson gave it a second thought before agreeing to marry his daughter off to the blind prince because of greed but Diana was against it.
She can't just get married to the man she didn't love when she had a lover. This was against her wish. Diana protested but no one listened to her opinion.
The young maiden gazed at the last prince and much to her surprise he raised his head and gazed back at her with his pure white eyes that sent shivers down her spine.
Finally, the event of a lifetime came to an end. Mr. Wilson and his youngest daughter went home in a sour mood. They met Isabel sitting on a stool, lamenting at the corridor leading to the main entrance.Seeing the sour mood on their faces, she knew something must have eventually happened. Isabel stood up to welcome her father, and she did so, glaring at her sister who she called a snitch."Let's go inside first." Mr. Wilson said before dashing inside the house and sitting comfortably on the couch. All his plans had fallen. They had called in crumble and this wasn't the way it had wanted it to be.Diana left the house and didn't follow them inside. Isabel couldn't wait for her father to finish his short rest so she can fill him with questions."Father, what happened at the banquet?" Isabel asked after seeing that had father was ready to answer any questions thrown at him.Mr. Wilson shook his head in disapproval, all that had happened didn't sit well with him. At least, his daughter
Days passed and Diana thought she was free from the marriage arrangement with the last prince. Her father never talked about it. At least she was death free! She got ready for the day and headed to her shop. The market was busy and crowded. People were whispering and murmuring but Diana didn't mind any of it and just focused on what brought her to the market. Her small fashion business was doing very well until a customer came by. The woman looked upset as she held one of the dresses that was being made by Diana; the seamstress."Is this what you want me to wear to my engagement party?" The woman yelled angrily. She slammed the dress on Diana's face.Diana's shop was in an open area, so passersby witnessed the scene; except those who had their businesses to mind."I ordered a v-shaped neck and the dress is nothing to my expectations." The angry woman yelled again. The seamstress in question took the cloth off her face to examine the errors. She remembered vividly how she made the dr
"You want her to what?!" The King said, yelling but his old age was a hindrance to him. He coughed loudly while the servants helped him with water before dismissing them. The other princes were as shocked as their father."I was expecting this though." The second prince said staring at the blind man with a disgusting look as he rubbed his jaw.The crown prince was short of words. "What will you expect this cursed dark-hearted man to say?" He directed the question to his father.Damon was already used to them raining insults on him. He just listened and observed with his senses. His blindness did not affect him."He hasn't seen the kind of beauty that young maiden possesses." The king said in between his teeth. The crown prince downgraded her because of her low status but true she was a refined beauty. The second prince had no interest in her since he can bed any woman of his choice. As for Damon, although he hasn't seen the kind of beauty the so-called maiden portrays. His senses neve
The day dawned crisp and clear. The sun poured through her window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations. The light of dawn seeped into Diana's room. She rubbed her bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky.The first rays of sunlight lit up her room. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in.She yawned loudly using the back of her palm to cover her mouth. Getting up from her bed, Diana walked towards the window to get some fresh air. She spotted a crack in her window and was curious to know what caused it.The lass got ready for the day and headed downstairs only to see the king and the two princes with her father who was weeping bitterly."What's going on?" She asked with a shaky voice, her face was sour. She forgot about the King's presence."Diana!" Her father gazed at her and then shook his head before looking away.Tears dropped slowly from her eyes......seeing her father's expression made her worry. Her father w
"Father, what are your plans? Why would the seamstress come to live with us here in the palace?" Damon asked angrily. The King and his two brothers remained quiet they were scared of this side of him."We don't need your permission!" The crown prince butted in.Damon turned towards his brother's direction after being cautious of the sound of his voice. "But she's presumed to be my bride!"He asked but the crown prince reluctantly bashed him, wanting to push him away. Try to mock him because of his blindness but Damon caught his arm and tightened his grip."I can still sense your presence, brother!" Damon smirked before pushing his brother away, then he later spared his father a glance after the old man yelled countlessly at him to stop being a moron."Damon, are you even my son?" The king yelled angrily but his old age became a hindrance. The blind man just beamed evilly. "You asking me that now? You aren't my father!" "You must get married to the seamstress without any objections, s
"One thing I hate the most is betrayal!" Charles snorted in pain as he held his head. He struggled to get to his feet. He remembered what he was trying to do and recalled that someone hit him with the wooden chair. Was it her father?"Mr. Wilson, it's not what you think." He said evading the gaze of the person standing in front of him. Charles knew he was gonna be a dead person now that her father was here and caught him in the act."You must be dense to think that I'm her father."Before Charles could raise his head to gaze at the man, a punch landed on his face and he fell on top of Diana's unconscious body.Just then the carriage from the palace came, the man quickly fled through the window while the crown prince entered and saw Charles lying on top of Diana's body.Damnit! Charles cursed gritting his teeth in annoyance.Charles got up and stood his ground. "Your Highness, it's not..."Before he could complete his statement, the crown prince gave him a filthy slap that resounded in
After all the drama that happened, Charles got home in a sour mood.He wasn't able to accomplish his mission. "If only she had my child, there won't be death!" Charles cursed scattering and smashing things he came across with."You are such a greedy asshole, Charles!" He heard a feminine voice say.Charles looked up to meet the person's gaze. It was no other person than......Elena."What are you doing here, Elena?" Charles asked with a shaky voice. Why was he feeling so worked up all of a sudden?"Glad to see me? I guess you aren't!" The woman named Elena smirked wickedly at him."Both you're supposed to be rotting..." She cuts him off and helped him finish his last statement."...in hell, I must presume." Charles wasn't happy to see this woman. But she looked as beautiful as ever."What do you want from me?" She let out a small laugh. "Charles, is that what you're supposed to be asking me?" She chuckled. "I know your plans, you want to put an innocent girl in the same position you
A few days later, Diana woke up to find herself in a spacious bedroom. This looked nothing like her room."Where I'm I?" She muttered inwardly. She tried to recall what happened the last few days, the more she tried to remember the more her head ache. The only thing she could recall was Charles visiting her, the rest events were stories. She heard the creaking noise from the door and saw the crown prince coming in with a smile on his face."Good morning sleeping beauty!" He greeted with a grin on his face.Who the hell is he calling a sleeping beauty? Diana wanted to slap the grin off his face. If he could just use the mirror and see that he was grinning like an idiot."Where I'm I?" Diana asked still looking around."You've been asleep for the past three days, just like the way I found you sleeping on the couch in your house and a man was on top of you." The crown prince then walked towards her and sat beside her on the bed. "I don't know the man though.""A man?" Diana asked in conf
