Chapter 21: part 1

The fear that overcame me when I opened my eyes almost forced me into sprinting mode, but the memories of last night overpowered me like a dog excited to see its owner. The curtains were still pulled back but the clock straight ahead let me know that the sun had long risen. For the first time in my adult life, the sun has risen with me still in a guy's house. It feels nice not having to catch a taxi or uber while the outside looks like midnight... sometimes it is midnight.

Sitting up on the bed, my eyes take in my surroundings;

The black walls take me back to my childhood. Growing up I wanted my bedroom to be black but my parents could never understand my want so the peach walls remained. If I had seen in person a bedroom with black walls, I am confident that I would have been able to make them understand. Or if they were to wake up in this room they would finally understand. The wooden wall behind the bed board draws my fingers in and as I run them over the smoothest texture ever,
