Chapter 22

GWEN'S POV

I woke up with the lights of the room becoming blinding. There were soft beeps sounding off the room and it wasn't until I glanced around the room did I realized where I was.

I was at the hospital. The pearly wall and the IV connected to my wrist were all the proof I needed.

I stretched and yawned sitting up with my hands rubbing my eyes wearily. My eyes fell on the figure before me in an armchair.

Granny, her head was tipped over in a deep sleep. She looked worn out. She looked exactly how I didn't want her to look. I was making things tougher for her.

She would have been at rest back at home but I had chosen to act rashly, I had chosen to make her this worried.

My mind cast back to the reason I had passed out. Jane had called. News of Andrew being shot dead.

Andrew was dead. Tears brimmed in my eyes as I sat in the small bed getting consumed by my thoughts. Andrew was dead. It was over. It was all over for me.
