Reality Bites, But So Do I

Alice was trying not to lose her shit all over a customer who was angry at her cause there was a policy of only being able to try on five garments at a time. This lady acted like she made the rules. No Alice was not the rule maker for this store or it seemed even her stupid life. 

After sneaking into her bedroom after the fight with Jared she laid in bed unable to do anything but cry. Then this morning her mom and dad blamed her for fighting with her mate and not just accepting him and forgiving everything he had done. Was it too much to want him to change. Though her parents told her due to werewolf laws she had to move to the packhouse tonight. You were only given 24hrs if you lived in the same pack to move in with your mate. A bit longer for long-distance relationships but those were far and few. 

Before work, Alice had talked to Marcia over everything that had gone down. She cried over the phone till it hurt. So now she was three hours into her eight-hour shift and felt like crap and was trying not to let loose her pent-up frustration. 

Sounds of laughter filled the store and Alice looked over at the new customers who strolled in. The air in her lungs was knocked out when she saw the six of them enter. Why were they here? What game is Jared playing now? Why can't the earth just open up and swallow her whole right now. 

It was hard to hold back the growl when she saw Morgan running a hand over Jared's right bicep. It felt like both cold water and an invisible knife cut into her at the same time. Making her feel sick. 

It was at that moment the woman she had been dealing with relented to just buying all ten items and moved towards the register. At least that problem was done with. Moving to see if any other customer needed help with anything her heart stopped. Jared and Morgan just entered one of the try-on rooms. No way...would he really? 

She found her way over to the room and grabbed the handle and found it locked. She could hear the sounds of clothing being removed and heavy panting. All she could think at that moment was heck no. She then proceeded to kick the door in and came face to face with half-naked sluts. Her hand grabbed the male and proceeded to drag him out. 

" What the hell!" He exclaimed

" You really need to think of your actions.." Alice told him willing him to fight her on this. 

A smirk appeared on his handsome face." Well if you don't want me to hook up with my girlfriend then you should put out...Mate." 

With that, she gasped at the audacity of this male. Her male was gonna be the death of her. 

" Maybe if you tried to put in some effort into our newfound relationship you may find things between us would be better." 

Then she moved away from him and she headed off to the backroom. Tears threatened to come out. She blinked them back. After grabbing a few items to put out on the floor and gathering her courage to rejoin the sales floor she was sure that the six trouble makers would have left. Instead, she saw them all still walking around. Though Jared looked kinda pissed off. 

It was then that Paul walked in. He was a friend of Amanda's and often dropped by to hang out with her or to flirt with any of the unmated females seeing how he was still unmated. An idea entered Alice's mind. Maybe if she showed Jared how much it sucked to have your mate all over someone else felt. 

She walked on over to him and gave Paul a smile that took up her whole face. She then threw her arms around the familiar male and hugged him in real close. Then leaned up and planted a kiss on his lips. It was meant to be a small one.  But Paul added in a bit more passion to the kiss and then released her. 

Kissing him was hard for her to do as it made her feel wrong and sick. But the large growl that filled the store let her know that her plan worked. Her gaze for a moment met the angry Alpha's only to see him marching towards them. 

" Alice....why did you kiss me?" Paul asked her as he was a bit confused. 

" Umm..." She said as a blush started cause of embarrassment. 

" MINE!" Jared said and landed a punch to Paul's face.

" Wait..what?" Paul said rubbing his cheek and looking between both Alice and Jared. 

Alice then had a feeling that maybe this had not been a good idea. On reflex, she grabbed her male so the Alpha would not hurt the innocent man. 

" Jared, calm down." She said to him. 

Then she walked away to the backroom once more not wanting to fess up to her childish antics and she knew she owed Paul an apology but found she needed to escape once more. But as she entered the dark backroom she felt herself being pushed hard against a wall. 

" You belong to me....you are mine! My female!" Jared roared in her ear. Then he pulled her head to allow the right side of her neck to become exposed and he leaned forward and sunk his teeth right into her claiming spot. Pain washed over the young woman than a feeling of pure bliss that she had never come close to feeling. Then she passed out.
