Dahlia

The red eyed rogue didn't even have time to snap his jaws.

Before his claws could slice through the air where my throat had been a second ago, Roman moved. He didn't just step in front of me; he became a shield of pure lethal muscle.

With a guttural roar that made the wall tremble, Roman caught the attacker mid air, slamming him into the stoned floor with enough force to break the tiles.

The rogue recovered with frightening speed. He rolled, sprang back to his feet and lunged again, his claws aiming towards Roman's throat. Roman twisted sideways at the last second, avoiding the strike by inches before driving his elbow hard into the rogue's ribs. Bone cracked. The rogue staggered but didn't fall. Instead, he snarled and launched himself towards me at full speed.

I froze but Roman didn't.

He intercepted the rogue before he could reach me, wrapping one powerful arm around his neck and wrenching him backward. The man's claws roamed wildly through the air, missing my face by barely an inch.

There was a flash of silver, a sickening squelch.

Roman's knife buried itself beneath the rogue's jaw.

The snarling stopped instantly and the body went limp.

Roman yanked his blade free, wiping the dark blood on his thigh without blinking. He didn't look at the body. His eyes snapped instantly back to me, scanning every inch of me for injuries.

"Are you hurt?" he demanded, his voice a low, rough growl.

"No," I breathed, my hands trembling against his jacket. "No, I'm fine but the safe room is just past the next corridor."

"We're not going to the safe room," Roman said, grabbing my wrist and pulling me in the exact opposite direction towards the service stairs.

"What? Why? My father said…"

"The safe room is compromised," he cut me off, his grip firm but careful not to hurt me.

"The smoke is coming from the east wing, but the secondary explosions are cutting off the underground routes. They know exactly how the layout is, this is an inside job, Dahlia."

My stomach dropped lower than it had when the windows shattered. An inside job? In the Argent pack? We were one of the tightest, most fiercely loyal territories in the region. If someone had betrayed us from the inside, it meant no one was safe at all.

Another blast shook the floorboards, throwing me off balance. Roman caught me against his chest, his scent of woodsmoke and iron instantly enveloping me. For a split second, despite the chaos and the smoke burning my throat, my wolf sparked to life, leaning into his warmth.

'Not now,' I scolded my inner wolf. 'We need to focus.'

"We need to get out of the estate entirely," Roman muttered, his eyes darting to the stairwell. "I'm taking you somewhere they'll never think to search."

"Where?" I asked as we sprinted down the narrow stairs.

"You'll see."

The answer only made me frown, but there wasn't time to argue.

He threw open the heavy metal door at the bottom of the stairs that led to the loading docks.

The cool night air hit my face, a sharp contrast to the suffocating heat from the burning mansion behind us. Alarms wailed across the estate and in the distance, I could hear the howling of the Argent pack wolves locking jaws with the invaders. I wanted to turn back. I wanted to find my father.

"Dahlia, look at me," Roman commanded, grabbing both of my shoulders. He forced me to meet his dark, intense gaze. "Your father told me to keep you safe on my life. If you go back out there, you're a target. They are here for you."

The realization hit me like a physical blow. The three assassination attempts over the last six months weren't some random bad luck, this attack wasn't just another pack fight. It was a hit, a planned one.

"Okay," I whispered, the defiance I usually carried completely melting away. "Okay, let's go."

Roman didn't waste another breath. He led me toward a black, heavily armored SUV parked in the shadows of the tree line. He threw open the passenger door, practically lifting me inside before slamming it shut.

As he jumped into the driver's seat and threw the engine into reverse, peeling away from the burning wreckage of my home, I looked at him. His jaw was clenched, a streak of ash across his cheekbone, his knuckles white on the steering wheel.

He had broken his rules for me in my bedroom and now he was tearing me away from everything I knew to keep me alive.

I was supposed to be the one breaking him, but as the estate faded into the distance, I realized I was the one completely at his mercy.

Dahlia We shouldn't have been doing this. Every rational part of my brain was screaming it. He was my bodyguard, my father's employee. A man I'd sworn to break within a week. "Fuck. We shouldn't..." "Stop," he snapped, running a hand through his hair. "Don't think about it, don't regret it. This doesn't leave this room" Before I could respond, the knock came again. My chest tightened. "Just a moment!" I screamed, already scrambling off the bed. My legs nearly gave out. Roman caught my elbow, steadying me, and for one insane second, we just stared at each other. My father, I mouthed. Roman's jaw tightened. He released me and grabbed his trousers. I'd never dressed so fast in my life. I picked up a random robe in my wardrobe and quickly put it on. My father mustn't see us together. I quickly looked at the mirror. My hair was a mess. "Get me my hair band," I whispered. "What?" I groaned, shifting him to the side and I picked the band on the table and wrapped

Dahlia I licked my lips, tasting the salty taste of Roman cum. Not a single drop wasted. I swallowed everything deliberately. His massive frame towered over me, chest rising and falling like he had run a marathon, hands clenched at his sides as if fighting the urge to drag me back onto his cock. I could see it in the way his thighs trembled, the way his jaw clenched... He loved it. Good. Let him love it. This was the plan, right? Push the unbreakable Roman until he cracked. Until he realized he couldn't be my shadow anymore without wanting to devour me whole. One taste of my mouth and he'd be gone by morning, running to my father that he couldn't protect me anymore. Not when he wanted to ruin me himself. But damn, the way his cock twitched even after coming so hard... it sent a thrill straight to my core. I rose to my feet with a sassy tilt of my head, wiping the corner of my mouth with my thumb and sucking it clean just to watch his eyes darken further. "Mmm. You taste ev

Roman I wrapped her naked body against my chest, water droplets traced lazy paths down her skin and I couldn't tear my eyes away. Gods, she is beautiful. My eyes trailed slowly from the curve of her neck, down to the swell of her breasts, perfect and heaving as she breaths. Her nipples were hardened, pink and inviting, begging for my mouth. My eyes went lower, to her flat stomach, her hips and the smooth bare mound between her thighs made my cock twitch painfully against my zipper. Every inch of her was mine to protect, but right now, all I wanted was to claim her, to mark her so no other bastard could ever look at her again. I shouldn't want her. Not like this. Her father had hired me specifically to protect her. I never thought that would include me. I was supposed to be the wall between her and the world that wanted to devour her but holding her like this, her wet skin pressed against my shirt, her scent, flooded my senses. The obsession I'd buried for months roared t

DahliaI learned two things about Roman Wolfe in the first twenty four hours. One: The man was a snitch. Two: I couldn't trust him as far as I could throw him and I couldn't throw him at all. The bastard probably weighed twice what I did. I stood in front of my father in his study, head lowered. "Three attempts," Lucien barked. He stood behind his desk, hands braced on the woods, knuckles white. "Three attempts on your life in six months and you sneak out to a club without protection?""I had protection." I tilted my head toward Roman, who had positioned himself by the door like a statue. "Your attack dog found me just fine.""Do not mock me," my father scolded. "I'm not... You locked me down. You took away my friends, my freedom and for what? So I can sit in this house like a pretty prisoner until the next assassin finds me here instead?”The slap landed on my cheeks so fast I didn't see it coming. I stumbled, catching myself on the edge of a bookshelf. The sting bloomed hot and

  • Teasing Her Alpha Guard    CHAPTER 1

Dahlia The third time someone tried to kill me, I was more annoyed than afraid. Mostly because I'd just bought this dress three hours ago, and now there was a very real chance it was about to get ruined by some homicidal asshole's blood. Again. The bass thumped through the floorboards of The Velvet Den, an underground club which was exactly the kind of place my father had strictly forbidden me from visiting. Not that it stopped me. Lucien Argent could double the patrols, assign ten guards to follow me around and deliver a two hour lecture about responsibility and pack image every morning at breakfast. I'd still sneak out. What was he going to do? Ground a grown woman? Actually he would. I was halfway through my second overpriced golden cocktail when a body pressed against my back. A Male. I could feel his thick cock pressing into my behind. "Dancing alone, beautiful lady?" He leaned closer to my ear. I didn't turn around. That would be too eager. Instead, I
