Chapter 12: The Nightmare

“That girl is pretty creepy,” said Monti. “I had goosebumps on what she said. What kitsune, and why does she say you killed that VP?”

They were already outside the woman’s house. The three of them had not moved their gaze away from home. They rushed up to the car and stepped inside.

Kyra’s face was frowning, so she didn’t face Monti, but she answered his question. “I also don’t know, and do you believe in kitsune, and I killed it?” Kyra asked.

“Of course not,” Monti said, “Apart from the old-fashioned myths about them in Japanese mythology, it’s impossible to have a kitsune here.”

Tyler said, “But you believed her prognosis...”

Monti did not respond straight away. He started scratching his head. “What she said is practically true; it’s as though she knows me already.”

Tyler began driving. “I’ll take you to your house, Monti,”

“Thanks,” Monti replied. “However, it seems that VP should consult with the doctor.”

Tyler gave Kyra a sidelong glance. “How is your arm?”
