Tulips, the famous cafe students from Holloway High went to after school. Except for them. Darin stood outside, the roof shading him from the bright light of the setting sun. His shoulder leaned against the wall of the white painted building as he waited patiently for her to come out. It had been almost ten minutes since he arrived, and she was taking her sweet time. He flashed a smile. He knew she was trying to test him. The doors swung open and he saw her walk foreward, her hands on her hips as she scanned the area for him. He gave her a few seconds of searching before, "Shawna." He called her name, pushing himself off the wall. She turned to face him with a frown, obviously upset he didn't call her attention earlier. But he replied with a sharp smirk. "Shawna."

He wasn't given a little space to breathe let alone reply before he felt Darin's fist hit his stomach, he groaned aloud, gripping his stomach in pain as Darin's fist pulled away from his stomach. He could feel the blood rising to his mouth. No one had ever punched him that hard. Needless to say he wasn't expecting it. It could be another genetic trait the Atkins carried. Tate glared at Tom while he tied his shoelaces with vigor, jaw clenchedand eyebrows furrowed. "You looked a lot happier an hour ago." Tate stated as they proceeded to walk out the locker room. Tom didn't respond. An hour ago he had told himself he wouldn't bother with her again. And then it hit him how she'd rejected him and he found himself looking for her, there was a little hope. And she let it roll away. He liked how she fit in his arms, he could have held her that way if she hadn't stepped back. The house was completely silent. Lacey rested her forearms on the kitchen table, her upper body leaning on it. Darin's hands held his head with his elbows on the table. Okay, it couldn't be hard to walk through the doors. Sure it was different for her and Darin but why did this feel a whole lot like... The butterflies in her stomach spoke for her feeling. Grateful for the fact that she didn't have to see Tom since he was busy. Exams were around the corner and summer school was not an option. She looked into one of the open textbooks in front of her and jotted down in her note book. The sound of Sadey laughing somewhere in the entire house reached her ears.She raised her head after an hour of working and writing, closing the books before her, she picked up another set of books and flipped through the table of contents before laying them out on the table. She fought the urge to pick up her phone with a deep breath and a shake of her head before picking up her pen to write.
