5. The slap

I knew it was a bad idea, but I was a selfish ass, which was why I didn’t mind visiting Larissa when I was certain she was done with her stupid engagement party. The Larissa I knew would not have agreed to that, but she had probably changed.

Part of me hoped that she was still hung up on me as I was on her. A selfish part of me hoped she wasn’t in love with the man she recently got engaged to because the irrational part of me wanted her back despite how unsafe she’d be with me.

Maybe, I could have moved on from her if I had tried; if I wasn’t stalking her to know what she was up to, if I was not going out of my way to always check that she was okay. When she had started dating Alexander, I thought it would be a fling like the other men she’d dated. Imagine my surprise when he proposed to her a month after meeting her. He was obviously after her connections.

I rang the doorbell for the third time, beginning to wonder if she wasn’t home. My men had seen her dickhead boyfriend dropping her off at home and she hadn’t left the house since then.

I was about to ring it for the fourth time when the door suddenly opened and I was greeted with the woman that had plagued my dreams every night since I broke up with her. Before now, I was only able to keep up with her life through pictures and reports from my brother, knowing if I ever saw her in person, I’d make a rash decision.

She looked like every man’s dream. If heaven were a person, it’d be in the form of a walking five-foot-nine blonde whose angry amber eyes were shooting lasers at me.

I wasn’t expecting a warm welcome but I also didn’t expect her to slam the door in my face.

I rang the doorbell again and she opened the door back. “What the hell are you doing here?”

The rapid rise and fall of her chest brought my attention to her breasts. Her nipples poked through the thin material of the shirt and I had a dark satisfaction knowing I knew how she looked underneath the shirt. She had a butterfly in the spot in between her boobs because she found it cute. She had two piercings at the dimple of her back. She looked just as beautiful naked as she looked fully clothed.

Larissa must have noticed the way I was looking at her because she snapped her fingers in front of my face. “I asked you what you’re doing here.” She repeated, her voice lower than before. Was she still attracted to me? That would definitely be my undoing.

“I heard you were getting married.”

I saw her flinch slightly at my low tone, but she pulled herself together fairly quickly. “How did you even hear that?”

“You’re quite famous.” I shrugged, not revealing the fact that I’d been keeping tabs on her for five years. “Congratulations on your engagement.”

Larissa didn’t say anything and just kept staring at me as though she was trying to figure me out, but her stare was only doing dirty things to me. I tried to control myself but I couldn’t help it when my cock jumped in excitement.

I pulled off my hood and I heard her sharp intake of breath as I entered her house, making her walk backward. I closed the door behind us and that was when she finally replied. “Thank you. You can leave now.”

The thoughts currently running through my head about her were wrong, but she was mine first before she belonged to anyone else. All I could think about were how she always let me fuck her however I liked. Did she give herself to Alexander like that? Hearing his name made me angry and I had half the mind to fish him out and serve his head on a platter to her.

I had no right to hate him but I did. I had no right to be in her house but I was. I had no right to kiss her, to touch her, to hold her, to fuck her like I used to do. But I didn’t care about rights; not now, not ever.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” Her voice was hoarse. She smelled like wine and that was the only plausible explanation for her allowing me into her house in the first place. She was not thinking straight, but so was I.

“How am I looking at you?”

I’d come to give her her engagement gift, which was sitting in my pocket. I knew I should not have delivered it personally because I was about to make a decision that would change both our lives again. She wasn’t pushing me out of her house. She wasn’t screaming at me for only showing up after five years. She wasn’t doing anything that suggested she despised me. If anything, she was looking at me the same way I was looking at her.

“Like you want me.” She answered boldly.

I laughed. “Oh, baby, I more than want you.”

I didn’t expect her response to be a slap on the cheek. My head whipped to the side and I held my cheek as I turned to look at her. She was the only one who dared to slap me. Any other person and he/she would have their relatives planning their funeral, that was if they had a body to bury.

Larissa stepped back when she saw the expression in my eyes. “What was that for?”

“For having the audacity to want me.” She responded anyway, despite the small steps she took backward.

I walked forward until I had her backed up against a wall. Her breathing became more labored as she looked up at me. She was a tall woman but I still had over seven inches on her.

“You have no right to want me.” She added, not breaking eye contact. “This is wrong.”

“I’ve never been one to do the right things anyway.”

My hand found the back of her neck and my lips clashed on hers.
