52. Grandkids

Despite what Caspian said, he didn’t let me move out just yet. He told me to give him a week and then, he could let me leave. I’d asked him the reason, but he didn’t say.

I was nervous as we stood in front of my parents’ house. It was the first time I was ringing the doorbell because I brought Caspian with me.

They’d met him back when we were younger. I just didn’t know if they would still like him or not. The time they met, he was still a senior in college so they didn’t have much expectations for him.

“I can feel your anxiety rolling off you in waves.” Caspian casually commented as he intertwined his hand with mine. “How are you more nervous than me? We’re visiting your parents whom you grew up with.”

He was right. I had no reason to be nervous but being nervous anyway reminded me how much I liked Caspian. I was tiptoeing around the word, love, knowing damn well that was what I felt for him, but I knew that if I admitted it to myself, there was no going back.
