50. Never let go

I didn’t know what the fuck was happening. One second, I was leaving the supermarket. Next, two men were attempting to grab me. It was like they didn’t anticipate Aldo behind me or they underestimated him because before they could touch me, he had twisted both of their arms at the same time. Then again, it was their fault for stalling first, trying to talk to me before they attempted to take me.

I was shaken up. I wanted to leave but Aldo didn’t want me to leave by myself. He also couldn’t leave the men there in the alley where anyone could walk in and see them, or worse, where they could run away. So he called Caspian and I crouched on the ground to wait.

I was absolutely relieved when I heard him call my name and I immediately ran to his arms. “You’re safe.”

“I know,” I murmured into his chest. I was always safe when he was around but that didn’t mean the fact that I’d almost gotten kidnapped didn’t scare me.
