Chapter 45: Daniel's Confusion

Daniel’s POV

Russell was fast asleep after we had some more intimate moments. I must have worn her out because she fell asleep after her climax. When my phone rang, I poured more wine into the glass and drank it. I got out of bed and got the phone from the table next to the bed. I frowned a little when I saw Ryker’s name on the screen. I also looked at the time on the phone and saw that it was almost 10 p.m.

“Well done, brother-in-law!”

When I answered Ryker’s call, his first greeting made me chuckle.

“Well, I heard from my mom that my annoying sister chose you instead of trying to get rid of you. You get.”

“I win...” I said, looking at Russell. “Dude, I don’t feel comfortable...”

“Uh oh... should I go there?”

Ryker and I sat on the pool’s edge with our feet in the water and drinking beers. Ryker had just come back from their house when he called me, but he went straight to their house so we could talk.

“No, nothing has changed in how I feel. I’m just uncomfortable.”
