I sat in silence, going through the list of people who had attended Dorothy Moore’s funeral. The list was long and full of rich, popular models, actors, actresses, and directors. As if it was her birthday party and not her funeral. I was looking for someone with a motive. Past relationship was out of the question. Wait. What about Dorothy’s ex? Did she—

“Hi!”

My eyes flickered from the iPad screen to the owner of the high-pitched voice. “Hello,” I said, eyeing three girls in the academy’s uniform, twirling their hair and batting their lashes at me.

“Hi!” one of them repeated, leaning down. I quickly averted my gaze to my screen. “Do you mind if we sit here for lunch?”

I could feel the stares from the entire cafeteria since I was sitting at the corner table and there were a lot of empty spaces.

“Oh, great! Thank you so much!”
