On Tuesday morning, a special assembly for grade 12 was announced during roll call. As we were nearing closer to sitting our half yearly exams, I just assumed that this would be a lecture from our principal and teachers on how this was the most important year of our lives, that every second here counts, study hard, don't waste precious time and all that other bullshit that I had drummed into me last year.

The pressure placed upon us right now was high, a constant reminder, from every teacher, of where failure would land us. This was my second chance year already. If I failed or got kicked out again, then there was no way I was coming back for a third attempt, but after the hell dumpster of a weekend that I'd just been through, I was in no mood for the lecture.
