Miguel’s P.O.V

Dad’s fist connected against my cheek, more crimson liquid spilling down my nostrils in a trail as my head tipped back and a growl rumbled through my chest. The frustration on his face grew tighter as I straightened, jaw clenched and a groan of disbelief scraped from his mouth because we had been going at this for minutes. “You insolent boy!” He breathed, his fist marred with a mix of fresh and dried blood.

Despite the pain shooting through my face, audacity rolled through my chest and a devious smile slipped onto my face. “That was a weak punch, you would have to hit harder” Adrenaline pumped through my veins, my eyes locked onto the pair of spring green eyes from the other side of the glass windows.
