Hello Daddy!

Jason's POV.

“ Mr. Black, Mr. Black Sir..”

Whatever it was he wanted, that made him run after me that way had better be something important.

“ Mr. Black, I ..”

“ What is it Jim? It's so early in the morning, don't you think the company could use a bit of tranquility? Keep it down, you are being too loud.”

“ I apologize sir. I just wanted to inform you that there's a package waiting for you in your office. A delivery guy brought it and said it was something important.”

I replied with a nod and made my way for the elevator. Jim stood at my side and we headed for the 21st floor. I gazed at my wristwatch briefly to confirm the time. As we stood in the elevator, my mind wandered freely. What's the package about? I have no idea who's bringing a present as early as it was. Grandma would send a text few minutes to the delivery guy arriving and we were not expecting any wrapped box from a business partner, at least not for this week.

I tugged at my tie and let it go when I was concerned it looked more better than before. Straightened my suit and maintained the ‘ oh so cheesy and arrogant’ CEO Black's signature look.

Just a few strides and I was out on the corridor heading for my office. Everyone I came across either exchanged pleasantries or nod and scurry away in fright. It's no fault of theirs, not everyone would be able to stand in presence of his or her ruthless Boss who doesn't cover up for incompetence and isn't even merciful.

Maybe they were frightened only at the mention of my name, but one thing is certain. I actually do look good. It's a fact well known. I can't afford to miss the gazes the ladies in my company throw my way. It's always so kind of me to gently remind them with my confident look that I do know I look too good. And this morning is no exception. Even while dashing away, they always make sure to have a glance at my well carved, perfect body and my face..

Took a left turn with Jim right behind me and I set my briefcase on my desk. He was right, there was a box on my table. Contents still unknown but we wouldn't if we don't tear open the box.

My long fingers set to work quickly while Jim stood at the door. His facial expression just as mine, we were both confused.

“ Did the delivery guy leave already? There are no notes as to who this is from.” it was more of a whisper rather than a question but Jim nodded anyway.

There was nothing inside. Nothing except a piece of paper. It was a DNA test and..

“ Hello daddy!” a young boy of no more than seven who we hadn't noticed all this while jumped out from my desk. Right, we didn't notice anyone was in there cause the kid was obviously hiding under my desk.

Who the hell will let his or child run into my office and play some prank on me? That would be handled accordingly later but for now I was more concerned about the word he had said.

He called me daddy. Not like I was married or had any kids..

“ My name is Liam. My fifth brother and second sister was right. You really do look like us.”

That sentence earned a chortle from the ‘oh so grumpy, arrogant asshole of a CEO who never showed his perfectly set of dentition.’

If I was correct, children were supposed to look like their parents and not the other way. I laughed genuinely but the laughter died down as quickly as it came. In it's stead, was a scowl and raised brows as I examined the boy. He was right. He did look like me, he was like the younger version of me.

“ Who..” I was cut off by him.

“ We have been expecting you for the past six years, daddy. And when it seemed you were not going to come, I and my siblings spent our time searching for clues. That DNA test was done seven years ago..” he spat everything out so quickly and I returned my focus to the piece of paper in my hand.

It said right there that I was his father but how could that be?

“ Liam, Liam..” we heard a voice outside. It belonged to a young girl in her mid- twenties. She surely looked like a delivery guy and she shared a few facial features with Liam..

“ You can't go in, ma'am. This is CEO Black's office.” Jim announced when she tried to run in.

“ And so? I don't give a hoot about him young man. I'm only here for my son. Now, step out of my way you moron!”

I must say she's got such an attitude. She was extremely pissed about Liam being here. Why wouldn't she be? He clearly brought a DNA test result to me.

“ Liam!! What are you doing here mister? Shouldn't you be in school?”

“ Mommy mommy, look, I found daddy.” Liam exclaimed and I saw her face become pale. She was sweating uncontrollably and it became difficult to breathe. Just that single statement from him seeped out life from her.

Trying to compose herself, she muttered as she held Liam in her arms...

“ I'm sorry honey but your dad is dead. He died before you were born, Liam”

“ No, he didn't. He's right here.” I chimed in, scanning the DNA test for the twentieth time. Her face, it looks so familiar.

She swung around to reply me but paused when her gaze fell on me. If she keeps holding her breath, we might have to get an ambulance soon. Colour had already been drained from her cheeks and I stared down at a white, slender lady.

Without taking her eyes off me, she drew Liam to her side and held him tightly.

“ I'm sorry for my son's attitude Sir. He's just a kid and kids could be naughty at times. Please ignore whatever he said.” she apologized quickly and for a second I would have acted like this didn't happen, I would have if I didn't hold a copy of a DNA test result or if I didn't see past the slight glint of fear in her eyes. The kind that says all the kid has said has been nothing but the truth.

She turned to Liam and scolded him. Whatever she thinks she's doing is fine by me, even if she keeps lying to my face but I'm certain of one thing; she isn't leaving here with my son.

My eyes scanned her body and I could have missed that little butterfly at the back of her neck. It's... It's the same as the girl from that night..

“ It's you.” I whispered, a small part of me hoping she would deny it.

Realization dawned on her that she had been caught and there was no need to lie anymore now.

“ It's..” the little choking sounds as she gasped for air..

“ You dared keep my child away from me? For fucking seven years? How could you? What other things are you hiding from me?”

“ If I had told you about him, would you have believed it to be true? Wouldn't you label me a whore?” her hands were on Liam's ears before she said that.

“ That's no excuse to keep my son away from me! I didn't give you the right to..”

My eyes went to the door and for once, I was relieved. Jim had probably left earlier when he figured things were going to get messy and he did me the favour of shutting the door quietly on his way out.

“ Well hello, I don't care what you think is right or not.” she was suddenly bold and held no words back. Just as me, she had noticed Jim was no longer in my office and that gave her a whole room to spit out words.

“ Mommy, Daddy.. can you stop arguing? My siblings would be waiting for our retur..” her hand went around his mouth, stopping him from saying any more words.

But I was quick to catch the main word. Siblings. He wasn't the only one she kept away, she kept God knows how many babies away from me..

“Siblings? Do you have any other babies I should know about?” with eyes narrowed, I stared at her watching her battle with herself on what lie to tell.

“ No. There are no more you should know about. Liam is your son..” her voice was laced with fear. She was hiding something from me but at least she admitted Liam was my son.

“ I have five other siblings daddy!” Liam's voice filled her with terror and she wrapped her hand more tightly.

“ What are you hiding from me?”
