It was finally the night of the event. Everyone was bubbling.

It was the only happy event that they were having in a while that didn't seem to break their hopes.

"We've gone through a lot of events these days. Hopefully, the moon goddess makes tonight right for us so we won't face any problems."

Valen heard a young lady say to her friend as they both walked past her, heading to the venue for the mating ceremony.

Valen was dressed up in a beautiful purple gown with a white head scarf tied around her head and her neck so she could easily use it to cover her face.

Rachel had assured that it was going to be a safe way, as many other women, including the maids, would even dress that way and cover their faces, but the color of their attire would be different.

She was standing outside the house, waiting for Rachel to be done dressing up so they could leave.

"I'm done," Rachel announced, pulling her small basket of fruits with her. She locked the door and moved closer to Valen.

  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   DEAD GUARDS

Just like the man had predicted, Iza came back. He tried finding his way but he mostly could end up with guesses. When he looked around at the shops, they were just normal ones. The room they took him to last night? He was sure that it was from a building. From a house but which one? Where? He was getting eaten up by the thoughts of not knowing anything. He looked around coldly and everyone who had been looking at him quickly turned their eyes away. That made it extremely difficult too.Because he was sure that one of the men must be looking at him right now. But he was too dumb to notice them. Especially the one who sexually assaulted him. He moved closer, asking the men to speak for no reason. They had no choice but to speak. But none of them sounded like what he expected. After displaying in what seemed to have been total confusion right in their presence, he headed back to the palace. "Is he okay?" "I am not sure, "Another man replied back in softness, afraid that

  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   A COLD BLOW JOB

Iza's heart skipped a beat. "Huh?" "You heard me correctly. Could you help me take it back? That throne belongs to me. Rhydian has had enough of that seat. I am done watching him play with the lives of our people and our tradition..." "No... no, I won't. This looks all fishy. Why do you think I will do it? I have sworn an oath of allegiance to the King, I won't betray." The man laughed, "That was soothing to hear. But I love the confidence. However, you didn't swear it to the King, you swore it to the throne. You don't owe the King. It's the throne you owe. It's the throne you're to worship and protect, not the King. The throne and its people. Moreover, it's not as if Rhydian cares about you either way." Iza's heart sank after hearing that. "If you and Aldridge were in danger, the first person he would have thought of saving would have been no one else but Aldridge. You're seen as the little troublemaker in the family, that one person who can't handle important

  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   A COOKED DEAL

Iza walked into the DRUNK HOUSE that night.Just like the name stipulated, it was a party house where all kinds of drinks were available. People usually came there to have some fun and waste themselves.Iza wasn't a fan of such but he still came once in a while... whenever he was going to clear his mind. He was recognized by the attendees, and he was given maximum respect, too. He was a lunatic after all, so anything that was going to incur his anger was definitely not on their list. He requested drinks and he was given. He sat at a corner and watched the people dance and waste themselves even more. There was a group of singers playing a few musical instruments to help the party be more lively. Iza was clearly uninterested. After he was done drinking the whole cup he had requested, he returned the cup to the counter. "Send the bill to the palace. I have nothing on me now."The woman who was the owner of the place cackled hysterically even when nothing initially brought that

  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   A FIGHT

"Other than that incident, were there any other strange incidents that happened?" Rhydian requested. The men looked at one another before they all simultaneously shook their heads and chorused. "None, my Lord.""Alright, if that's the case, you all can retire for the night. Tomorrow, we can take it up from there."The guards bowed their heads and left the courtroom, leaving Aldridge and Iza. After they were gone, Rhydian cleared his throat, knowing that in particular that someone was pretty curious about why Valen was back. "If you have any questions, ask." That was a much better way to start the conversation. Iza's stomach turned. Ask? He should ask? He knew Aldridge must have known about this. He was the only person who was clearly thrown into the dark INTENTIONALLY by the King and now he had to ask?If he didn't, wasn't he worth giving an explanation to? Iza didn't notice that he had become the moment of the show for all of them as they were now staring at him, waiti

  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   WHY?

Valen finished dressing up right inside Rhydian's room. The man refused to step out as a way to give her privacy.According to him, "I saw it all last night."But upon her insistence, he gave in, managing to turn his face to the side. He still ended up sneaking a few glances at her. While Valen was preparing, her mind was a bit elated. She remembered her promise to her father. She had just 90 days. 90 days to gather evidence.90 days to stop an upcoming war of anger.90 days to prove that this man, with whom she was connecting, wasn't the devil they believed him to be.Hopefully, her plan wouldn't flop, but seeing as how things were going now, it was a relief for her. However, she reminded herself that she needed to be careful.Rhydian wasn't a foolish man. He would still keep his eyes on her. After she was done dressing up, she turned to face him. He was already looking at her.Her face burned red. "You weren't supposed to be staring." She hated how she ended up sounding

  • That Was No Prince: She fooled the Lycanis   ANOTHER ROLE

"But my Lord, what are you going to do about her? A-Are you just going to let her be?" Aldridge asked, still trying to wake from the shock he had just experienced. His eyes were still glued to Valen who was sleeping soundly on the King's bed like she owned it. How she managed to even get in here was still a puzzle for him to fix. But then it all began to make sense. Last night, Iza...yes, he was roaming around the hall like a maniac wolf and was ordering the maids to take off their scarves. Iza must have seen Valen first and wanted to get to her before anyone else or before she could get to the King. Also, last night, Valen willingly carried the tray. It was all planned by her. "What should I do about her? Send her to the dungeon?" Rhydian inquired as he folded his arms across his chest. Aldridge immediately shook his head, "That's not what I meant, my Lord. I am just...I am still surprised, that's why." He lowered his head in apology. Rhydian nodded, not thinking too
