Chapter Eleven

The light of dawn seeped into Vladimir's room as he rubbed his bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a magnificent shine within the sky. The dawn chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in, adding flavor to his freshly brewed coffee. 

"How are you, buddy?" Carter tapped Vladimir's shoulder before standing next to his friend, opposite the window. 

"I'm good. Need coffee? he offered. 

Carter shook his head. "Nuh, I'm good."

It's been days since he got out of the hospital—his wounds are all recuperated up, his thighs were no longer futile, and his face is not swelling any longer. 

Everything got back to normal after days of waiting for his wounds to heal—Carter had recovered from all the traumatic things that had happened, Sebastian finally stopped blaming anyone for what happened to Alice, and just spent his time taking care of his sister, Celes
