POV: Amara Kings

"Stop!" I shouted, throwing myself between the fighting wolves. My hands shot out, one touching each of their chests. The moment my skin made touch, a strange tingling rushed up my arms.

The two wolves—Max and Lena—froze in place. Their eyes widened as they stared at me, then at each other. The anger that had made them attack each other seconds ago seemed to melt away.

"What did you just do?" Max whispered, looking down at my hand still pressed against his chest.

I wasn't sure myself. Ever since fleeing Dorian's compound with Trick, strange things had been happening. Like how I could feel the invisible threads joining mated pairs. Or how, just now, I'd somehow fixed whatever was broken between these two.

"Your bond was damaged," I said, surprised at how certain I was. "I... fixed it."

Lena's eyes filled with tears. "I can feel him again. In my heart." She reached for Max's hand. "It's been dark for weeks, ever since—"

  • The Accused Mate   Witch Hunt

POV: Celeste MoreauThe iron lock snapped open with a soft click. I nearly cried from relief as magic flooded back into my blood like warm honey. Three weeks in Dorian's silver-lined cell had left me weaker than a newborn kitten, but freedom tasted sweeter than any spell."Guard coming," whispered the small fox sitting by the cell door. My familiar, Trick, had been my eyes and ears while I was stuck.I pressed myself against the wall as heavy footsteps neared. The guard—a big wolf shifter with a nasty scar across his face—peered through the bars. I held my breath."Sleeping beauty's still out cold," he muttered, going on.Little did he know the "sleeping beauty" was just a pillow and some makeup magic. Not my best work, but enough to fool a werewolf's eyes in the dim light.Once his footsteps faded, I slipped out of the cell, Trick darting between my feet."The exit's that way," he said, flicking his bushy tail toward a small hallway."Not yet,"

  • The Accused Mate    Memories Resurfaced

POV: Alpha Charles Winters (in flashback)The witch's neck snapped under my hands. Her body crumpled to the forest floor, eyes still wide with fear. I looked at what I'd done, my heart racing. This wasn't meant to happen. I just wanted information about my unborn children, not blood on my hands. But she'd said those words—those terrible words about my babies—and something in me broke."What have you done, Charles?"I spun around. My Beta, Luther Cain, stood at the edge of the clearing, fear on his face."She knew something about my children," I said, my voice shaking. "About Seraphina's baby. She said they would bring destruction."Luther neared slowly, as if I were a wild animal. "What exactly did she say?"I closed my eyes, the witch's words burning in my mind. "Twins born under the blood moon. One blessed with power beyond measure, one cursed to betray. Together they will end the old order.""Twins?" Luther's eyes widened. "Seraphina is carryi

  • The Accused Mate    The First Assault

POV: Elias BeaumontBlood splattered across my face as I ripped through another of The Mother's troops. Their body fell limp at my feet, adding the pile of dead that surrounded me. All around us, wolves fought and died as the enemy poured through the northern border like a flood."They're breaking through the left flank!" someone yelled over the chaos.I spun around, looking for the weak point in our defenses. Sure enough, a new wave of The Mother's creatures had punched a hole through our line where Gamma Terry's forces should have been holding."Markus!" I called, before remembering my Beta was no longer at my side. Instead, Viktor Beaumont appeared, his silver fur mixed with blood."I see it," he growled, shifting back to human form. "This attack doesn't make sense. They're throwing away too many soldiers for a direct attack."He was right. The Mother was cruel but never wasteful. These weren't tactics—this was a killing. But why?A familiar howl

  • The Accused Mate   Pack Politics

POV: Marcus Hale"He's lying!" The charge cut through the war council like a knife.I froze, my finger still pointing at the map where I'd been explaining our defense plan. All eyes turned to the back of the tent where Gamma Rael stood, his face twisted with anger."Your Beta has been feeding information to the enemy," Rael continued, stepping forward. "I have proof."My heart hammered against my ribs. This couldn't be happening. Not now. Not when we were so close to forming a united front against The Mother."That's a serious accusation," Elias said, his voice dangerously calm. He turned to me, his eyes searching mine. "Marcus?""It's not true," I said firmly, holding his eyes. "Rael is the one we should be asking. He disappeared for three hours last night.""Because I was following him!" Rael pointed at me again. "I saw him meeting with one of The Mother's spies at the edge of camp."The tent exploded in shouts. Alpha Reina and the other Northe

  • The Accused Mate   The Healer's Touch

POV: Lyra Sinclair"Hold him down!" I shouted as the wounded wolf thrashed on the improvised cot. Blood soaked through the bandages I'd just applied, making them bright red.Two pack members pinned his shoulders while I pressed my hands over the deep gashes across his chest. These weren't normal cuts. The Mother's creatures left something dark behind—a drug that worked its way through the blood."It burns!" the wolf cried, his eyes rolling back in his head. "Make it stop!"I closed my eyes and focused. Warmth flowed from deep inside me, down my arms, and into my fingers. A soft blue glow spread from my hands into his wounds. The wolf's cries became whimpers, then stopped totally as he fell unconscious."Will he live?" asked one of the workers, a young female with worried eyes."Yes," I said, wiping sweat from my temples. "But he'll need time to heal."I stood up, my legs shaking. Healing took a lot out of me, especially when facing The Mother's dark
