August's POV

How many days have passed? Right, three days my day is always bad. How come I'm always detained? Like littering, curfew, and sleeping inside the class. I don't understand why someone seems to be watching me if I do something wrong and I'm immediately detained. The truth is, is there a spy camera following me? Ha! That is impossible because drones or spy cameras are not trendy here. Yes, there is a cell phone, but the technologies here are not that techie.

"August, what's going on with you? You're turning the detention room into a home." Gen commented to me.

I scratched the back of my neck in disgust. "I don't know, Gen, I feel like I'm under surveillance. I just got a wrong detention slip right away." I answered here. It's just exhausting because it seems like I'm the only one being detained. I see others violating it but why is there no detention slip? Is the guidance counselor angry with me?
