Chapter 5

August's POV

Can you guess where I am right now? Well, I'm just here at Genieva's family home. Yep, you're right wet. I was at his home. He said he will adopt me since I am homeless.

I almost faint now because of the huge size of their house. The house is not like the western or European that I used to see on TV of rich people. Their house is like a futuristic design. It was made of glass and steel and everything is white. Very unusual. Very unexpected for an Alien.

"Is this your house?" I asked him. I am very amazed.

It shook its head. "This is our villa. Our home is located on a different continent. We have a villa here, because of the Academy. We only have one Academy in Pandora. That's why. Although we have a University called Wilson University, but alone That's only for non-magic people." This answer is explained.

"I see," I answered. The weird. There are many universities on Earth, but here education is scarce because there is only one school. Take note, the entire world. Unbelievable, but it is the truth. "It seems very... unwise that there is only one school in your whole world. I mean, for your population, isn't the Academy difficult?" Then, shall I add more? I wanted to add that but I just insisted on keeping it to myself.

"Nope. It's not an ordinary school that just admits anyone. All enrollees will go through a severe screening. If you will fail, you will not be able to join the school. As simple as that." This is the answer.

It's not as easy as I thought. It seems like there is still an entrance exam and it doesn't seem easy because of the number of applicants.

We stopped at a door made of very shiny titanium steel. Weird because there are flowers engraved there and there are even colors in it. I am not sure if it was painted or if the iron is just weird.

"Wow. The door looks amazing." I praise The door is nice. I feel like I want to test that door. So I came up with an idea.

Without any second thought, I kicked the door. Then suddenly a static of familiar feeling rushed up from my toenails, ankle, and leg.

"Ouch! What the f**k!" I couldn't stop being cheap. It hurts so much. As in, the durability. It didn't move and didn't even move.

Genieva was looking at me like I was losing my mind because I kicked the iron door.

"Are you crazy? That is the world's unmeltable steel. You are unbelievable." He said shaking his head.

Really? It's a good thing that my leg is also good because I might be crippled now. But the pain is real. I will never do it again. But, why are we in front of this door? Is this an entrance to something unusual?

"By the way, this will be your room from now on." He said what seemed to register in my brain for a while what he said.

What?

Whose room is this? Is it mine? Really? This very super amazing door is my room.

"Oh please stop that look. You look like an idiot." She even rolls her eyes!

"Oh, he's terrible! Can't he be shocked?" I have a complaint. Very, naturally, I will be surprised because all this is new to me.

It sighed. "Sorry, I forgot that you came from another world. But seriously, are none of you like this?"

"We do have but they are made for big buildings and only elevators have iron doors. The normal house there has a wooden door." I will explain. The door to Earth is wooden.

"Er, what is an elevator? And you mean wood. Like trees?" This is guaranteed.

"Never mind the elevator. Trees, yes. Tree trunks were cut to create slabs and turn this into a door or furniture." I will explain again.

"Wierd. Trees are just useful for bonfires." He said that he understood what I said. "But before anything, why don't you stroll inside? Don't you have a plan on seeing your new room?" It promised with a smile.

Crap! I just remembered now. I was too engrossed in chatting with Genieva. I forgot that I should be excited about my new room. I grabbed the iron handle and turned it. I pushed it little by little and to my surprise, it wasn't that heavy. It just seems like a normal door.

An elegant room was revealed to me. The ceilings were carved with an unknown design. The walls are a shade of beige. The carpeted floor is made of red velvet. And the most attractive there is a queen-size four-poster bed with golden silks that are being curtained and bed sheets that are colored gold as well as pillows and blankets. The room is too spacious. There are bookshelves with books in them already. But odd, there are no windows. There is even a single sofa with a study table. Amazing is an understatement. The room is very luxurious to the point of it seems like a dream.

I turned to Genieva, I know she already guessed what I am thinking right now. "Is this serious?" I will ask.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" He answered and was very proud.

"Damn!" I just mentioned it.

•••

I hadn't even moved on from my room when Genieva dragged me out again because she said we were going somewhere. But before that, he dressed me in unusual clothes. It is lengthy and similar to a Chinese kimono. Honestly, I don't like the dress. It's my 1st time wearing this kind of clothes. I like wearing jeans or army pants and t-shirts.

"Don't you have any other clothes besides this?" I complained to Genieva.

"That is your us-, I mean that is the only available clothes right now. We can shop later on." He replied that shopping later is not here.

"So, where are we going?" I have a question here. We are now riding a carriage. Yes! A carriage. It feels like cinderella.

"We are going to Volks Academy." He answered while he was checking papers.

"Right now?" It seems like it's afternoon now. With my hunch, it's about four in the afternoon if the time here and on earth are the same.

"Yes, you need to fill up the forms by the end of the day. The school is only giving us until tonight for your submission." He replied that he didn't even look at the paper and that he was the only one who knew what was written.

"Wow. That is a very restrictive time frame." I uttered unbelievably.

"Well, class started last two weeks ago so basically, the school won't accept any enrollees. But you are an exemption, it was the council who requested reconsideration for your late submission. The council already arranged everything so you won't need to undergo filtration." This explains it.

I just nodded my head even though the truth is, I don't understand anything. I only know one. Their rules are a total weirdo. Their rules are a word of impossible. Very unrealistic, but then again I'm on another planet. I just thought, could planet nemesis be real? Hehehe.

I just looked outside. The trees there really look old and gigantic. It's good that illegal logging is not a trend here, because the income here is big. Everywhere has greenery. He is not weed they are like Bermuda but not. I can even see wildflowers that seem to be good if they sprout because they are far from each other. The skies are the same. They are blue but I can see a silhouette of a big planet. Yes, it seems very close. The mountains are like towers. It is not a typical mountain like Mt. Mayon or Mt. Apo They are like the empire state building all of them but the mountains.

I can only see them in fantasy movies or 3D animated films. But now, here I am watching them. Everything is a perfection of oddness but undeniably beautiful.

"Wow, I never imagined an alien world could be this beautiful." I just stated. I can see there are flying birds but I am not sure if those are birds.

"Why? What did you expect?" Genieva smirked as she looked at me.

I turned to him. "You know, we have movies back on Earth. Some are portraying an Alien world that is the opposite world to yours. There is no green. There is no oxygen. Everything is rocks and dead soil. Plants are unable to live. It is a place where like a plague." I will explain.

"Wow. You, humans, have a morbid imagination with things like this. Listening about that, maybe our appearances are also morbid." This is an unbelievable answer.

"You bet. Humans have the image of a skinny and boney creature with a large head and leaf-shaped eyes. There are instances, that it even looks worst." I answered here.

"Wow. Just wow." It's just a promise. "Good thing now you've seen us. We still look like humans."

"Yes and no." My answer.

"Why?" This is it.

"Yes because your physical structure was identical to humans. And no, because you are all too much for good-lookingness. I have never seen yet any unattractive person here, since I came." I answered here. Yes, you are right in thinking. Nothing ugly. They are all like beautiful models. Stunning and gorgeous.

It raised its eyebrows at what I said. "And so are you." It promised me.

I blinked at what he said. Does she mean that I'm beautiful too? "I was told many times that I am pretty. But I don't believe it." I answered here.

She looked at me unbelievably. "You have no idea how lucky you are to have that face August." It seems to have another meaning. It feels like she means something else but maybe I'm just paranoid.

I just looked out the window again and the first thing I noticed was a tall fence made of shiny copper-colored metal. That's why I put my head out so I could see what was ahead.

My face went like that when I saw a very huge castle-like structure inside the fence. He looks like Disney but not a replica. Everything is shining. It seems like it would be nice to steal anything there and sell it at the pawnshop.

"Genieva, is that the Castle of Veneesha?" I asked Genieva stupidly.

"Nope. Not." He shook his head while arranging the papers that he had looked at one by one earlier.

I wondered. If that's not a palace, what is that big thing? "Then what is that?" I asked him in wonder.

"You will find out later on." This is the answer.

The carriage stopped just in time and Genieva got off. I also went down because I wanted to see the structure in full view. And I wasn't wrong, it's even more amazing up close. The main gate is as high as a twenty-story building. The gate is made of gold I think and thick and solid. Some carvings made the gate more so unrealistic. My gosh, aren't people here afraid that the gate here might be stolen? If it was still in the Philippines, it would have been hacked for a long time.

And above the gate, there is Artistic lettering of VA that looks like the style of the Volkswagen logo but instead of VW, it says VA. I already have a hint about those initials but it could also be different. I don't want to be assumed.

Then the gigantic gate slowly created a creak when it started to open. And little by little the dreamy place is revealed to my eyes.

"Welcome to Volks Academy." Genieva taught me.

And here I am. Looking to a dreamlike reality.
