"I'm back in the country, Aubree." Lotus excitedly revealed to the person at the other end of the phone while pulling her luggage behind her as she walked out of the airport.

Lotus's eyes lit up when she saw the taxi she called earlier drive into the airport. After such a long flight, Lotus felt so tired due to jet lag, and the last thing she wanted was to get delayed by the taxi.

She waved at the taxi, and the taxi slowly drove to a stop next to her.

"Ahhh!" Upon hearing Lotus’ words, Aubree shrieked at the top of her lungs in excitement. "Lotus, why didn't you let me know? I would've picked you up from the airport. I've missed you a lot." Aubree chided with a pout.

Lotus smiled and got into the taxi. "Why miss? Didn't I leave the country just a few days ago? Moreover, it won't be a surprise if I let everyone know the bride is back so soon." She replied and neatly dumped her luggage next to her.

"I agree." Aubree giggled and suddenly said it craftily. "Then. You're visiting my place first, right?"

"No, I'm almost at the company. I have to submit some documents and complete all the workload before the wedding. You know Luke and I are traveling for our honeymoon." Lotus explained.

She paused and stared at her wristwatch. "It's 12:34 a.m.; I should be there in the evening."

Aubree beamed. "Okay. I'll prepare your favorite meal and hold a feast for the both of us to say a proper goodbye."

Upon hearing the mention of her favorite meal, Lotus's eyes lit up, and her face brightened in joy. "Alright. You're the best."

Lotus was yet to complete her words when she saw two familiar figures walking close to a familiar car. The male's hand was wrapped around the lady's shoulder while the woman held a phone in her hand, the phone closed to her ear.

Filled with shock, Lotus slowly lowered the phone, and she discovered that Aubree had cut off the call a few seconds ago. She didn't even know when!

Aubree and Dylan smiled at each other. They held each other's hands before they both entered the car; the car immediately drove out of the famous 5-star restaurant belonging to Dylan's family.

Lotus froze in shock at the scene, unable to extricate herself from what she saw. She had been talking to Aubree all this time, but it turns out... She trembled

"Follow the car." Lotus suddenly ordered in a shaky voice. Her eyes pooled with tears.

"Miss?" The taxi driver turned towards Lotus in shock. He had been listening to music all along, so he had not been paying attention to her.

"I said follow that damn car. If we lose sight of it, I promise not to let you go." She bellowed in a shaky voice, causing the poor taxi driver to almost jump in fear.

The taxi driver silently muttered a curse, wondering what sort of passenger he had just carried. However, he pushed the thought away, knowing money had to be made.

"Al. Alright, miss." The taxi driver replied with a stutter and quickly began to follow the car.

The tears in Lotus's eyes slipped past her cheeks, and she covered her face in sadness and pain.

For years, she trusted Aubree and she loved Dylan, but what she never expected was that two of the most important people to her would hurt her like this. Why? Just why?

Soon, the path became familiar, and her body shook.

Surprisingly, the two were driving to their matrimonial home—the home Lotus and Dylan planned to live in after their wedding.

"I'll be right back." Upon arriving at the apartment, Lotus told the driver and alighted the car with a purse and a small box in her shaky hands.

Her feet were shaky, and her heart raced with every step that she took towards the apartment. The apartment that she had always looked forward to became something she dreaded.

Lotus froze, and her pale face turned white as if it had been completely drained of blood.

"Naughty girl saying that yet still meeting my pace," Dylan muttered in a deep voice filled with passion and thrust fiercely into Aubree, making her cry loudly.

A tear spilled past Lotus' eyes, and she clenched her fist, her body trembling.

Soon, I'll buy one for you; you'll move in." Dylan confessed and kissed Aubree, his words striking a deep and heavy blow to Lotus.

"I know you loved me the most." Aubree giggled coquettishly and wrapped her hand around his neck. "I love you also. Ah, that naive Lotus still believes in the fairy tale that it's only you and her, but she didn't expect that you'd always be mine, right? Dylan, who owned you?"

"It's you, darling. Even till the end of the world, I'm yours, and you're mine." He replied and increased the pace, making Aubree cry coquettishly.

Lotus took steps back in shock, her face pale as a sheet and her eyes reddened with tears. So that's what they both thought of her all this time: naive. Her mind was completely blown away.

A few minutes ago, Lotus was happy that her life was almost complete, but now her life seems to have been turned upside down. Her face was completely drained of blood.

The man she had been in love with and her childhood friend. Why? If they had any issues, why not simply tell her? Why do they have to do such things that hurt a lot?

Suddenly, Lotus's expression changed, and she took a deep breath. Since the two wanted to be together so badly, she would help them fulfil their request.

Thinking like this, she fixed the minuscule CCTV camera in her hand to a vase that was placed on a stand.

She unlocked her phone and tapped on a few settings, and soon the scene of the couple's infidelity in the room began to play on her phone.

Lotus's heart continued to drip with blood with every second that she watched the video. After about thirty seconds or so, she felt herself drained of strength. Without knowing how, Lotus walked out of the apartment and got into the taxi.

"Lotus, you didn't visit my apartment last night. I waited for you throughout the whole night after cooking, and I called your number the whole night, but you didn't pick up. I was so worried." Aubree's thin and caring voice gently drifted into Lotus's ears from the other end of the phone.

Lotus's lips rose in a mocking smile, and her bloodshot eyes narrowed. So worried enough to fuck my boyfriend, your friend, all day? Lotus thought, her fist clenched in hatred and disdain.

Hearing no voice from the other end of the phone made Aubree surprised. "Lotus, are you still there?" She asked.

Lotus faked a groan. "I'm. Just tired." She suppressed the hatred in her tone and calmly replied.

Hearing Lotus's voice, Aubree sighed and chided her in feigned worry. "That's why I told you not to go on a business trip a few days before your wedding. Tomorrow is your wedding; how will you be a tired bride?"

"Stop nagging. I'll recover before tomorrow." Hearing Aubree continuously feign worry made Lotus annoyed so much that she couldn't help but coldly retort.

Aubree was taken aback for a few seconds by Lotus's tone, but recalling what Lotus had just gone through, she believes that Lotus's tone must have been a result of tiredness.

She pushed her conflicting emotions away. "Well. Well. Whatever you said." Aubree alluded in agreement. She suddenly smiled coyly and asked in a feigned mischievous tone. "So, have you spoken to Dylan yet?" She inquired in a feignedly curious tone.

Lotus's face turned cold immediately. Weren't the two all yummy together? What did Aubree mean? If Lotus had spoken to Dylan, wouldn't Aubree know? Lotus clenched her fist in hatred.

Back then, she had always told Aubree everything about her relationship without knowing that Aubree was the housewrecker. Lotus has never seen someone so shameless before.

She took a deep breath to hide her contempt, and she casually replied, "No. It's still a surprise. Moreover, what's there to talk about? We will meet each other and officially become husband and wife tomorrow." Lotus purposely flaunted to Aubree's ears.

Aubree froze, and her gaze became unnatural. "Yes. Yes. You're. You're right. I have something to do. bye." Aubree stuttered. Her expression changed, and she quietly gnashed her teeth in hatred.

"Bye," Lotus casually said, and she cut off the call with a wicked smirk donning her face.
