Chapter Two

Despite the fact that he knew the injuries she had sustained were the result of dark magic, Caspian brought her back to the castle nonetheless and promptly asked four healers to treat her wounds and determine what was truly wrong with her.

Everyone in the castle that night, in particular the elders, were astounded to see him bring a strange girl who wasn't a wolf into the fortress. They were even more astonished to see how fiercely he guarded her.

Although Caspian's face was perfectly blank and unperturbed as he stood by the side of the chamber where the healers were checking on the girl, his mind and beast were in complete disarray.

He begged his beast, gritting his teeth, "Why did I bring her here?"

Caspian huffed when there was no response but only a loud growl of irritation.

Truthfully, he wasn't ready for a mate, especially not one who was usually unnamed and had clearly forgotten her past due to black magic.

He pulled his hair back and uttered a groan of frustration. "Eish! This is an awful error! Why am I out here? This is my fortress." He then pushed open the door.

"Your Majesty, Are you okay?" Justice who suddenly arrived behind him, shouted his question, as though he had just learned that Caspian had been killed or something worse.

All the healers attending to the girl, who was being cared for on the bed like a submissive child, turned their attention to Caspian, whose eyes grew gloomy. He was acting emotionally, and much of it was fury.

He walked back out of the room, slammed the door shut, and then turned to look at Justice, who was now grinning nervously.

"Again, with your bad temper." As Caspian's stare hardened in complete disapproval, the man chuckled hesitantly and bowed his head. "It's worse tonight." He mumbled.

"Why are you here?"

"Oh! According to what I've heard, you went to the playfield to investigate on your own and returned with a human girl." Justice replied eagerly and dipped his head once more as Caspian's eyes hardened.

Of course they were aware that he had visited the playfield to investigate. He brought in a girl who wasn't a wolf, and it's likely that everyone in the castle was speculating about it. Never once did he give a damn.

He turned to the door again, opened it, and entered with Justice following him while maintaining a cool demeanor.

The healers all faced Caspian and bowed respectfully in his direction. "Alpha." Together, they gave greetings.

Caspian nodded. His attention was drawn to the small woman lying on the bed, her huge, adorable eyes fixed on him. He carefully chewed his lower lip as he tilted his head to the side.

Her scent permeated the space. It was wonderful, enthralling, and driving him mad! He was glad that he was able to contain his screams.

His action caused her eyes to widen, and when she quickly averted her gaze, he grinned menacingly in response.

"What exactly is wrong with her?" Justice questioned them after observing that his dear alpha appeared to be staring at the woman on the bed instead of questioning the healers. Interesting.

"She is in great health. We can't determine what's wrong with her brain, but it is obvious that she can't remember anything, and we'll take care of her wounds naturally because umm, she seems human." One of the healers reported feeling a little uneasy.

Caspian arched an eyebrow. "Seems human?"

"Unfortunately, we are unable to determine whether she is human or not, but we will treat her as such." Caspian gave a small nod as another healer who appeared more assured than the other spoke.

"Leave." All of them dropped their heads and left the room when he hissed at them, with the exception of Justice, who continued to look at the young woman with interest. Even though she was tiny and appeared vulnerable to breaking if he touched her, she was still stunning.

"Oh, she lost her memories? She should remain here, in my opinion, till her memories come back." Caspian was engrossed in staring at the woman who was also now starring at him when Justice spoke out gently and subtly.

What was happening?

Okay," Caspian sighed and rubbed his forehead. "You may now depart." Justice quickly dropped his head in response and carefully closed the door behind him as he left the room.

The girl hurriedly seated herself on the bed as Caspian approached it while gazing at him with wide eyes. She glanced at him with interest, agitation, and an emotion that he couldn't quite identify because she was attempting to hide it, and his crimson eyes flared darkly in response.

He inhaled deeply before giving her a intimidating stare. "Speak the truth to me. How much can you recall?"

She fixed her gaze on him and slowly nodded. "I only remember being attacked by... an old woman... I can't seem to recall her face either." Caspian scoffed in disbelief as she revealed herself.

"I...I can't remember anything...what's the matter with me?" She asked, tears threatening to spill in front of her eyes, her voice cracking.

Caspian sighed deeply, cursed that his mate was a nameless being with loss memories. He didn't want to feel pitiful, and he could use this to his advantage if he so desired.

"Come."

"What?" She asked, perplexed.

He outstretched his arms towards her gesturing her to come to him and hesitantly, she started moving close to him until she was sitting in front on him.

"What do you think about this?" He asked abruptly, placed his arms at her side caging her petite frame while his large figure covered her and leaned his face close to hers.

She gasped at his sudden action, and he smirked as she stared at him, stunned. "You are Mona from now on." He whispered, and she looked even more surprised.

"M..Mona?" She stumbled.

"Yes."

"Wait, who are you?"

"Caspian."

"Lycan.."

Caspian smirked with delight. He had actually anticipated her calling out his name. Her voice was so enticing that he wondered how his name sounded coming from her mouth.

"Welcome to my home."

"I don't want to. You are a stranger to me, and I am a stranger to you." She spoke slowly, attempting to avert her gaze, but it appeared that no matter how hard she tried, she was unable to do so, which only amused Caspian.

He chuckled deeply at her words and shook his head at her, while she looked at him, unsure what he was laughing at.

He abruptly stopped laughing, his face solemn, and a deep whisper erupted from his throat, "Oh my sweet lavender, you are not a stranger; you are mine and mine alone, and I am yours and yours alone." And with that, he heard her thumping heart skip a beat.

She opened her mouth to speak, but a knock on the door forced her to bite her tongue. This earned her a loud chuckle from him and made her blink quickly and turn her head away.

A maid, an Omega, stood at the door. "The elders are asking for your attendance, Your Majesty." She disclosed.

Caspian's smile vanished, leaving him with a smug and indolent expression. He moved his body away from his beloved mate before silently leaving the room.

Suddenly, the young woman's innocent face got an evil smile that reached her black pearl eyes, which sparkled with a bright gold glow.

"Mona..." She trailed off, clicking her tongue.
