Chapter ten

Her sparkling, golden eyes fluttered open. She stretched her arms out, moaning and sat down on the bed. As she turned to look around, she saw Caspian seated on the chair at the side of the bed, clothed in a gray suit and gazing at her as if she were a book that needed to be carefully read.

He looked like a painting. A painter would undoubtedly sob if they could only imagine him.

Why was he so appealing?

His hair was carefully pulled back, and he had ruby eyes that were staring at her with such intensity that if he closed them, she would vanish.

She glanced at him, focusing on his hand that was resting on the armrest of the chair. He had a cigarette in his hand, but it wasn't yet lit.

Caspian mumbled, "Good morning lavender."

Mona mumbled "Morning," clutching the duvet to her chest, dodging his eyes. "You're staring."

"Am I forbidden to?"

"Does my mouth smell bad?" Mona asked in an abrupt tone, casting him a doubtful glance.
