Chapter 3

"It is getting late, Aurelia. The restaurant needs to close. Pay up."

"Are you actually broke?"

"What a shame! They will detain you. They will send you to the Pack Court. You did that to Valerie. Remember?"

Valerie pulled out a thin cigar. She lit it and took a slow drag.

She blew the smoke right in my face. Her arrogant smirk sickened me. I swung my hand to slap her. Chaos broke out.

Caleb looked annoyed. But he didn't stop me. He just ordered his guards. They pinned me hard to the ground.

"Aurelia, stop it! Haven't you embarrassed yourself enough?"

"What? You can set me up, but I can't fight back?"

My eyes were red. I glared at Caleb.

The Thorne pack rose to the top of the East in just three years. They built a massive business empire. All because of me.

I used my family's hidden power. I cleared every obstacle for him.

Even the most ruthless enemy Alphas bowed to him. Only because of my face.

Tonight was our anniversary. I planned to reveal my true bloodline.

I was no nameless Rogue.

I came from the highest ruling class of the Alliance. I was a legendary pureblood Royal Lycan. The sole heir of the Sterling family.

I planned to take him home. To introduce him to my parents, the reigning Wolf King and Queen.

But wow. A man's arrogance ruins everything in a second.

I was blind. I overestimated his character.

"Caleb, do you really want this? Do you want me to leave this restaurant in shame?"

Caleb let out a cruel laugh. "Aurelia, learn your lesson. In this territory, I am the Alpha. Submit. Apologize to Valerie. I will make this go away right now. This is your last chance."

The guards held me down. Valerie got bold. She punched me right in the face.

"You dumb bitch! Go to the dungeon for not paying. Or, get on your knees! Lick the spilled wine off the floor! Crawl out of here on all fours! Like a filthy coyote!"

"Oh, I forgot. The first option lets you keep your clothes. The second option? You do it naked. So much worse. Hahaha, hurry up and choose! I can't wait!"

Dozens of eyes watched me. Waiting for my downfall. I clenched my fists. I looked at Caleb with dead cold eyes.

"Fine. You chose this. The Thorne pack will lose everything. You will fall from the very top. Remember this moment. It is all your fault."

Valerie burst into hysterical laughter.

"Huh? Hahaha!"

"Did the breakup break her brain? She thinks she is a high-ranking pureblood now?"

Caleb glared at me with pure disgust. He thought I was insane.

He grabbed a plate of caviar and threw it at my feet. "Cut the bullshit. Making the Thorne pack lose everything? You have no power. You refuse to learn. Don't blame me."

"Figure out your own mess first!"

"Manager!"

The manager walked over. He looked down at me coldly. "Miss Aurelia, will you pay in cash? Or is someone paying for you?"

He kept his professional politeness. Barely. He hadn't touched me yet.

I scanned the room and my eyes landed on an emissary from a subordinate pack. She used to negotiate with me.

I walked towards her. She panicked and backed away.

"Aurelia, stay away! I won't pay for you..."

"Don't be scared. I don't need your money. I just need your phone."

"Just one call. A friend will bring the cash..."

"Hahaha, look at her faking it! In the East, nobody dares to cross Caleb. Nobody will bring her money."

"Let her call! We will give her half an hour. No money? I will let these low-rank wolves rip her dress off! A former Luna-to-be must taste pretty good, right?"

Valerie looked at the low-ranking wolves. They were practically drooling over me.
