Chapter nine

Hannah POV

   I was enjoying having dinner with Liam when my phone rang, checking the caller, I saw that it was my mom, I haven't talked to her since I ran away from home "hello mum"

"Hannah," she said confirming if I was the one she was talking to

"it's me mother"

"How could you do this to us, to me your mother" she cried into the phone

maybe because you didn't stop your greedy husband when he wanted to force me into something I don't want, that is what I wanted to tell her but instead "I cannot do what dad wants, I am old enough to decide for myself"

"come home, you have already proven your point" she begged

"so I can't be enslaved by you two again, I am not" I answered her

"don't you understand, your father is ready to accept you back if you come home, your fiance is a forgiven person" she yelled at me

here I thought she misses me "I don't have a fiance because I am never going to get married to me and you and dad better forget about me because I am never coming back" I yelled back at her in the same energy

"Enjoy your freedom while it last Hannah, your father will be coming for you and he will bring you back"

"dream on, he will never find me" I assured her before ending the call on her

"Are you alright," Liam asked me startling me again

I wanted to pretend like everything was alright but all my emotions came running in, I ran to him and hug him before crying on his shoulder, he pants my back and let me cry "it's okay my love, let it all out"

we stood that way for almost five minutes before I back away from him "I am sorry, I guess I just needed a shoulder to cry on" I sniffed

he put his hand into his pocket and brought out a napkin "I am glad it was my shoulder, what happened? I understand if you don't want to talk about it"

I can see he was hurting too "I thought she misses me and that was why she called"

"who," he asked while holding me down to seat

"my mother, I was surprised she called but also happy and then," I said once again

"I guess she didn't miss you," he asked

"yes, she wants me to come back home"

"meaning they missed you at me," he said but I shook my head

"she said my fiance is a forgiven person, so I should come up and marry him"

Liam's hand left me and the next minute he was punching the wall behind him "no one touches what is mine, you are not going anywhere" he declared

I was scared, I saw him this way before "of course, I am not going anywhere" I replied and that seems to calm him down "but she did say my father will be looking for me, I don't want to go back there"

"you won't be going anywhere, I will protect you"

"But I am just a human trespassing on your land"

"you are not just a human, you are my human, my mate" he answered "my job is to protect you and u will do that even with my life"

"don't say that, no one is dying for anyone"

"I suggest you come to stay in the packhouse" he suggested

"why it's not like he can know this place, it is hidden in the middle of nowhere"

"I am not taking any risk, my wolf won't be able to rest until he knows you are alright"

"my workplace is far from there" I reasoned

"I don't mind to be your chaffer darling" he insisted and I smiled

"my father is not someone you want to mess with, he is dangerous"

"trust me when I said I am more dangerous than him" he boasts

of course, since he is a werewolf "if you insist" I surrender

"I insist, do you want me to stay here with you tonight," he asked as if he could smell my fear

"won't they be worried if their leader didn't come home"

"my second in command is there and besides, my mate need me tonight," he said like it wasn't a big deal

"Are you sure," I asked again

"just come here," he said opening up his big arms for me in which I crawl into.

Liam POV

     fuck her parents to think they can take her from me, I am going to research who her parents are and also on that punk that called himself her fiance and then I will know what to do about them. I already sent a message to Eric that I will be home at my place, I don't want him knowing I am spending the night at my mate's house, he is going to announce it to everyone. I look down at my mate who was sleeping peacefully on my lap, this was the best feeling ever and also I convinced her to come to stay with me at the packhouse, damnit, I should have suggested my house where we will have more privacy to ourselves without my parents puking nose into it

   "you are still here," she asked with her eyes half-opened

"I know you want me here and I won't leave till you are okay" I assured her

"thank you" she appreciates

"There is no need to thank me, where is your bedroom"

her eyes become wide open as if a pervert just enter her house, I quickly raise my hand "I don't mean anything, I will be here on this couch, I just want you comfortable and you are not here" I said pointing to the couch

"oh" she relaxed and point towards a door

"lead the way, let me tuck you in and I will be back here," I said genuinely

she search my eyes looking for any other motives "so you know, I have eyes pepper in there" she threatened

those things won't even hurt me "I won't force you into anything till you are ready"

"okay" she replied and then lead the way "don't mind the state of my room" she informed as we stepped Inside

aside from her bed that was neat, there were books all around the place "you love books"

"Not just any books, books that have to do with business" she replied before jumping on her bed

"Are you sleeping in that," I asked to amaze, she hasn't even changed from her clothes yet

"do you expect me to sleep naked when I know we are just a door apart from each other"

"I am not asking you to sleep naked, I am only asking you to change into something more comfortable"

"But I am comfortable in this" she fibbed, she doesn't trust me yet and I am not ready to push it till she is ready

"I will be outside sleeping, you can lock the door but please change into something comfortable" I plead with her

"I will try" she replied

I move closer to her in which she stiff immediately, I chuckled but still went ahead to place a peck on her forehead "goodnight love" I said and move away

"goodnight" she replied touching her forehead

as I move out of her bedroom, she stop me "wait, you will need this" she said as she throw a pillow into my face" I catch it "thanks" I said to her before moving to the living room.

Eric POV

Something was fishy, he told me earlier that he was having dinner at her house, now he said a message that he is at his place, how did he expect me to believe that he is spending the night at her place.

  "where is Liam, he did not join us for dinner," his mother asked me

"he went back to his place" I replied

"I can't believe that with the look on your face" she moved closer to me

she sure knows a way for getting someone but she won't get me this time around, I show her my phone so she could see the message her son left me,   she holds up her chin and then stares into my eyes "I still can't believe"

gosh, she got me "but that his message" I replied still playing innocent

"I know you know something, spill it already," she said getting impatient

"fine, I think he is spending the night at his mate place" I gave in

"that's great news, why didn't you want to tell me that" she fake being offended

"because I am not certain, he only told me he was having dinner at her place and then this message"

"Wow, my son is making me a grandma already" she exclaimed happily

Liam is going to have my head tomorrow "I want to get back to my mate now"

"make sure to make one too"

"Yuck," I told her and quickly move away from her.
