Audrey watched as the man took Carla up into the dancefloor and they began to twirl away. She was tipsy. She continued to laugh.Ron's eyes was on them. He was watching her and at the same time watching Carla with the austere gaze of his that always kept him from speaking. She did not mind. Each time his eyes rested on her, she leaned more into her dance partner even when the occasion did not call for it. She knew he did not like the show and doing what he did not like at that moment pleased her. She was going to keep it up."What is your name?" The young man asked her in the most seductive manner she had ever heard and she replied, slurring her words..."I am Audrey and what is your own name?""I'm Thomas but my friends enjoy calling me Tom. You can call me Tom too, beauty," he said.. she turned to look at him and he was biting his lips, his eyes on her breasts.. she felt hot suddenly. The other dancers had steadily circled them and she could no longer see Ron or Carla or even Rob
Ron stood out in the cool night air with Robert by his side. He was afraid and worried that she might not be a good enough driver and as such, might be risking her life and that of Carla. He blamed himself for everything and snapped at Robert for letting Audrey take the keys from him."I had thought it would be possible we go with them," Robert said in his defence."Wether or not we go with them is not the issue at hand.. what I am saying is, she might not even be a good enough driver, Robert!"Ron yelled. He was right. She was not a good enough driver and that bothered him as he raked his hand in his perfect hair but an idea struck him. He went back inside and came out with the keys to someone else's car. He climbed into the car and Robert hopped in. They were on their way soon and his heart was thumping fast. " I'm sure they are safe and that is what matters at this point. Maybe you should let me drive since you are nervous and terribly jittery," Robert said. Ron did not reply him.
Ron did not let her slam the door in his face. He stuck out one leg and kept the door ajar. She gasped."Why on earth are you here? I just told you we are absolutely fine!" Audrey snapped. She knew he would be offended being the proud and arrogant person he was but she was least concerned about that. She wanted him to leave and she hoped he was mad enough to but he did not."I don't know why you choosed to leave like that knowing that you are not even a good driver_""Well I'm home and safe and that does not exactly make me a bad driver, Ron..and yes, Carla is fine. She is without a scratch so can you let me shut my door now?"Audrey demanded. Ron was calm. He knew she was angry and he had no desire to aggravated issues by arguing with her."Okay, fine. You are not even a bad driver but I got so worried that I had to lend a car and come after you two. I was damn worried." She rolled her eyes and as he took his leg back, she slammed the door in his face. Ron was there for minutes mor
She was still by the mirror, recounting the experiences of the past night when the door flew open."What on earth, you have been by that mirror since I was gone? Get your boots tied up let's go out to the others!"Carla commanded as she walked into the room. Audrey had no idea how much time she had spent."Wait, that was really fast of you. You just stepped out right?" She asked Carla. "Well I did not travel to another pack to get my sword!" Carla said. " Please get dressed up and let us leave.. we are really late and I'm sure everyone is already there."As Audrey bent to tie her boots, she thought of telling Audrey that she had changed her mind about coming for the training but changed her mind comforted by the fact that she would at least be there with Carla and not just make Arrogant strides there alone. She finished and they left, walking as fast as their legs could and running when they had to. True to their thoughts, everyone else had been assembled there and they knew what tha
Audrey stood there. Ron was not going to let her go unless she apologized without saying any curse word to him. She looked ahead, they were both totally ignored by the many men who had gone on with their vigorous training as the leader of the warriors returned. The Alpha had left. Audrey noted that he must have come to have a confidential conversation with the leader of the warrior. She could not set eyes on even Carla.. there were too many warrior wielding swords and paying utmost attention to the business of the day that none seemed to care about them. No one was going to come speak for her and there was no way she was going to defy Ron, being that he was appointed directly to supervise her. She was frustrated."Well? Are you going to apologize now or you are going to do something witty to get you free? Perhaps, you enjoy not being a part of the others?"He asked. She took one heavy breath and said,"Thank you," to Ron. He frowned, making a show of being unimpressed with her. She r
Just when they were approaching the dining hall, Johnson leaned over and told Audrey,"I'm officially joining the warriors tomorrow. I will no longer be a swordsman who does not fight enemies.. why then do I have the skill?" He asked. Audrey was certain that was the best news she had received for the evening. She had meant to ask him other times if he had no desire to join the warriors but she had decided against it. "That's a good enough news to put me in a really good mood."She said as they walked casually down to the dinning. There were not late. Ron was yet to arrive dinner and she sighed. Remembering what late coming had earned her that morning made her shudder and hate him. "You look absolutely stunning, my dear," her father complimented as Audrey sat down. She smiled and said a thank you. A part of her that loved to rebel did not want to look good when Ron eventually joined them. She did not want to give the impression that she was trying hard to look good for his sake. Sh
Audrey was going to say she was having a bad dream when her arm remained held by Ron. She was a bit away from her room and she looked longingly down at the hall where her room was."We don't have to stand here in the hall if you are of good conduct, Audrey. Be a good girl and don't walk out on me again or I'll detain you here and it'd take a bit longer than necessary to see you to your room," he said. He was not smiling at her and he sounded more threatening than she ever wanted to hear."You can't just show up from nowhere and be the one who tells me what to do!"Audrey said. It was annoying enough that he was to escort her back to her room, but having him boss her around in his usual arrogance was what infuriated her more. "Don't raise your voice, princess. You won't like it so much," Ron said. She fell silent and began to follow him as he led her away."You know, Audrey, when I had first stepped into the dinning hall this evening, I had wanted nothing more than a little time with
Audrey was more than surprised when she saw Carla sprinting towards the rest of them with Johnson closely behind her.She stood watching them, the surprise evident in her eyes. She did not know when Ron walked up and reached her. She jumped just when his hand came up on her shoulder. By then, Carla and Johnson had reached them and were panting. She whisked around and shrugged his hands off her shoulder. He replaced it again and this time, it was firmer. She knew she was going to attract unnecessary attention if she struggled to make sure he was not touching her. She quit trying to make him put down his hand and he did not."Good morning to you two," Carla said."Alpha Ron and my big sister, good morning to you!" Johnson said with boyish vigour that amused and pissed Audrey at the same time. She nodded stiffly to acknowledge the greeting while Ron spoke with the two."I'm a bit surprised that you two came together, why is that?" Audrey said at last when she could no longer keep the
