Chapter 36: He Heals Perfectly

Melissa's POV

"Make sure to inform me once the Alpha is back."

I instructed the guard that manned Enzo's quarters that night.

He bowed to me and walked back to his post.

I wanted to go back to my room, but not a trace of sleep could be anywhere near my eyes.

I decided to spend some time outside the house. Before long, the gate was opened and the driver pulled in. When I looked closely at it, it was Enzo's car. His guards came out the other car that followed behind.

When he came out, he seemed to be limping, and then his guards came to his support, taking him inside his quarters.

I went to the door, but the guards prevented me from entering, insisting that the king doesn't want to see anybody.

"I'm his mate for crying out loud!"

I blurted loudly, before I could regain my calmness.

"Now get the hell out of my way."

The guard wanted to argue further, but then his superior came out and granted me entrance.

I moved in as quickly as I could and was awed by the sight before me.
