"Wait, no! I'm on my period!"

Lucian's movements stopped abruptly. He buried his head in the side of my neck, his nose twitching. Sure enough, he smelled blood.

This was a signal that my body was vulnerable.

"Damn it." He cursed under his breath and quickly rolled off the bed, forcibly suppressing the clamoring desire in his body.

The overwhelming aggressive presence from moments ago instantly dissipated as cold air rushed in.

Not quite used to the sudden change, I called out to him. "Lucian..."

"Don't move." He raised his hand to stop me. "I'll get some aspirin."
