Aira Valerius.

My lungs dragged in air, thick and perfumed with roses, and for a moment, I wondered if death smelled like bridal powder and hair spray. It probably doesn't, right?

My eyes peeled open as I inhaled another sharp breath, and I expected to wake up in oblivion, the pain of my death still fresh, but instead, I found myself staring at my reflection in the mirror.

I blinked once. Twice.

My eyes shifted downwards, my hands were clean. My dress was crisp perfect as it was when I first wore it. My heartbeat was steady; and that terrified me most of all.

My lips parted, and a shaky breath escaped my lips as I felt the world spin. Behind me, the stylist stood, coveniently placing that final pin to complete the look, and I found myself frozen in the spot.

Then my mother's voice came, familiar, repeating the exact words that ran through my head.

"You look absolutely stunning, my dear." She had cooed from beside me, exactly as she did before. "I cannot believe the day is here. You would be Alpha Rico's Luna after years of being engaged and being the Luna-in-training." She then reached out her handkerchief to wipe the tears in the corner of her eyes, and my heart stopped momentarily.

To say I was shocked would be an understatement.

Wasn't I dead?

I could still remember everything vividly, everything that transpired down to the moment I took my last breath.

I had zoned out then, but I could still hear my mother's voice in the background, and everything felt exactly the same.

Then, it dawned on me suddenly.

It could not be...could it?

No. I have heard of it before, but it were all just myths, hearsays with no concrete background.

I blinked and glanced at mother, just in time she said the words that ringed in my head, word-for-word, just as it had happened before.

"You are good for him, Aira. You are good for the pack." She added with certainty.

And just like the other time, I nodded, the my voice low as the response escaped my lips. "I know, Mom. I know." Now, my words held a different meaning, and that well practised smile was nowhere to be seen.

She did not seem to notice--everything going the same as the older course of time. "Good. Now, I need to head back out to entertain the guests before you come out." She made a move to leave, but stopped midway, and turned to look at me. "By the way, have you seen your sister? I have not seen her anywhere around here." Her brows knit, her lips forming a frown.

"No." I swallowed a bitter lump at the thought of my 'sister', and what flashed right before my eyes was her in bed with my fiancee, and watching her as I took my dying breath while she stood over me, holding onto the knife she used to kill me. "But I can help you look for her." I added cautiously, the words escaping my lips before I could even think of saying otherwise.

"No, do not worry about that. I would find her." Mom shook her head, dismissing it. "You are the bride, you should not be seen around until the ceremony. Just wait here. I will go look for her."

"Okay.." I watched as she exited the room, and before the door closed, I quickly turned around, my hand curled by my side, "Mom." I called out, trying to see if this would play differently.

A second passed, and I almost thought my word fell on deaf ears since it did not go with the timeline.

But she stopped, and then she turned to look at me, "Yes, dear?"

I exhaled a breath, my heart rate spiking. Forcing a smile on my face to mask my earlier expression, I then added. "Maybe check down the halls?" I said intentionally. "I think I saw her venture down that path."

Mom's brows drew in, but she nodded. "Alright, dear. I will go look for her now." And then she stepped out, the voices calling for her just like before but she excused herself, unlike back then, and from where I sat, I watched as she turned and made her way down the hall that would take her to the room where Rico and Lisa were.

With her gone, I exhaled a shaky breath, and got on my feet, cautiously making my way over to the full length mirror in the corner of the room, and I stared at my reflection. Everything was exactly the same as it was, and I knew right then that what I was trying to deny was indeed true.

I have been reborn. The heavens are on my side it appears.

My hands curled around the bouquet, and my teeth gritted as I stared at myself in the mirror--my eyes haunted and determined to make a different choice this time around. A tear escaped the corner of my eyes at the thought, but I was quick to wipe it harshly with my free hand. They do not deserve my tears.

I refuse to end up with the same cruel fate.

It was then that something caught my attention, and when I turned my head to the side, I could see it clearly. Right behind my ear, a bit downwards, I saw something that was not on my body before--moon tattoo sort of, half white, and half red. I reached out my hand to touch it, and it was as real as it could be.

For now, none of this was making any sense, but until I figure out a way to take charge of my faith, my mind would not be at ease.

A scoff escaped my lips as I stared at my reflection in the mirror, the white dress staring back at me cruelly.

Funny how my wedding day turned out to be my death day. Only, if I had known, I would not have worn white.

Staring at my reflection a second longer, I turned around and made my way out of the room, determined to make the very first change--getting away from this goddamned wedding.

I threw the bouquet away as I walked past the door.

Let the dress I died in be my armor, the bouquet my last offering. this time, I walk away before the blood spills.

AIRA VALERIUSIt was such a busy day, I barely managed to get time to slip away to the cottage to bring food to Alex. I am sure he is starving. There is not any food left at the cottage, and as he wolf, he must be starvug given how big his appetite must be.So, the minute I get the chance, after Alayna was whisked away by Sam, whose meeting with Rico lasted longer than expected, I slipped into the kicthen and packed just enough food for the man, before I headed out to see him.Upon arriving at the cottage, an unexpected feeling fluttered in my heart when I opened the door and found him there, standing. His gaze found mine, and he offered me a small smile. "You're back." He greeted, his smile warm, and I felt my heart flutter. It was the entire gesture of returning to the cottage to find someone. It had been empty for so long that I had missed having someone there. It just to be grandma, welcoming me back in that fashion, and now, it was him. Though it is a one time thing, but still.

ALEXANDER THORNE."Enough, I do not want to hear. I am not interested." I rose a hand to stop her before she could go further and get any more ideas. If my parents and sister sent her this far, then they must be determined this time around. But I could not entertain any of that. I did not before, and I would not, especially not now that I am married.Alayna pouted. "Bu Uncle Al...""I already have someone." I cut her off, figuring out the best way to shut her up is by sharing this piece of information. She scoffed, clearly not believing me. She let go of my hand, her expression dry. "It is one thing to avoid marriage talks, but it is another to make up a partner. I did not expect that from someone like you, Uncle Al. I thought you were better than that."I gave her a look, to ask if I was the one she was saying those to. Since when did I start playing with this kid?She gave me an isntant apologetic look, her smile returning. "I am sorry." She whipered. "But you really do not have to

ALEXANDER THORNE.I flicked through the pages of one of the books I had picked from the book shelf belonging to Aira's mother. She had been gone for hours and the sun had began to set. I had answered a handful of business calls, but at one point, I decided to explore while I waited for her return. That was how I founded myself at the bookshelf after browing through the collection of plants there. She had a wide range of medical herbs that she was growing, and what stunned me the most was that she even had some very rare ones, which she managed to grow indoors and take well care of.Clearly, i have underestimated my mate. But while going through the book shelf, I came across an old book, which piqued my interest. The back ws not really giving anything aside from it being an old, boring look. But while looking through it? It was a detailed book of almost every medical herb to exist, with how to care for it, what is it used for and everything in between. It was also handwritten, my best

AIRA VALERIUS."Bingo!" She snapped her finger, pointing her index at me. "Which is exactly why none dared to approach you, well, except me now. I am here to save you and give you a better option than your cheating scum of a fiancee. You are welcome." Her wide grin returned, and I could not help but chuckle as well.It was not that i am entertaining her thoughts. It is just that I found her cute and funny. "How old are you again?" I folded my arms over my torso, unable to help myself but ask."Seventeen." I am two years older than her then. She is acting much younger. Then she quickly added. "But that is not the point.""Then what is the point?" I arched a brow. "You are here to scout me or something?""Well, if you put it that way..." She shrugged. "...I am here to find my Uncle a bride. He's the--""No." I shook my head immediately. "Not happening.""But you have not even allowed me to finish--""Still no," I side stepped her, and reached where the resting chairs were, settling do

AIRA VALERIUSI love Alayna. She truly is a whole vibe to be honest just as I thought she would be from the moment I met her.The touring she wanted involved her looping her arm around mine, and while I was supposed to be the one giving the guide, she was the one that dragged me away off to whichever direction, which so happened to be towards the backyard of the pack house, away from the bustling noise behind, while the men were away to handle the pack issues.I have to admit though, I wished I was there because I wanted to get as much details as I can in order to figure out what the hell was going on. But then again, it was not like I could turn down Alayna--whoever she is to the Alpha King anyways. I just know that she has influence. The way she carries herself was proof enough."So," She broke the silence once we were a safe distance away from the prying eyes and eavesdropping ears. She turned her head around, and given we were about the same height, her eyes easily found mine befo

  • The Alpha King I Married    23

AIRA VALERIUS.The Alpha King is a young wolf?Well, not so young, but the man that stepped out of the car seemed to be in his early twentues, and of my limited knowledge of the Alpha King, I knew that he was rumored to be in his early thirties. Then again, no one could be so certain because information about the Alpha King were kept confidential--only the Alphas knew him much. Other ordinary folks like me, well, we could only hear stories and if lucky enough, get to see him visit packs.Like our own.I am sure there were others that shared the same thought as me however, because I could feel the environment quiten down, everyone's curious gaze on the young wolf that had just stepped out, one of the guards closing the door behind him. But he did not advance towards us. He turned his head to the side, just in time to see someone round the car, coming from the other door. The young she-wolf made an appearance, seeming to be of the same age bracket as him. Bob length brunette with light
