Chapter 25

"What brings you here?" He finally asks when he realized I wasn’t going to talk first. He leaned back in his chair before setting his reading glasses as well as the book he was reading down on the table. He fixed his gaze on me and I felt quite uncomfortable. I know he feels guilty for taking James away from his family but I deserve respect too. James wasn’;t the only one forced to grow up all by himself.

"I was at my brother's place today" I go straight to the point. and I watch his jaws set in a tick. Whatever he wanted to say to me, he changed his mind before staring at me as if he wanted me to continue. I never did and he cleared his throat before speaking.
