"Jasmine is fine now..."

"... Please rest assured that I will keep my promise..."

I vaguely heard some of his words and my raised heart fell hard, but then my heart beat faster because of his last sentence that I couldn't control.

Why did he say that about me?

Was I lovely?

And, what did he promise father?

Or maybe he made some kind of deal with her father.

But, I guess I won't be driven out for a while.

Henry hung up the phone and came out, and when he saw me, he wasn't too surprised, but rubbed my head gently, "Don't worry, your father entrusted me to take good care of you."

"Really?" I was a little surprised.

But I was more surprised by the tenderness of the man in front of me. Is this the legendary Chadwick Alpha who is so strict and battle-hardened?

"Sure, come on, I'll walk you to school." Henry turned around and walked out, wearing a neat suit, his whole person imposing.
