I couldn't bring myself to stop it from leaving, as the knowledge of its kind being extinct weighed heavily on my mind. My mouth remained shut, unable to utter a word. The thought of a wolf or any other creature's scent being concealed was still lingering in my thoughts.

Lost in my own musings, I was taken aback when Louise had already gone quite a distance. I noticed her stunned expression and wide eyes as she glanced at the open window.

"Go away!" she shouted at me, but I couldn't comprehend her words until she grabbed hold of me, causing us both to tumble to the floor.

Gasps filled the room, but my attention was solely on the woman sitting on top of me, clutching a dagger in her hand.

She glared towards the window, seemingly sniffing the air around her. Panic spread among everyone else, yet I couldn't help but admire the woman before me. Even her gentle demeanor didn't make sense in this situation.
