Chapter 44

"Your wolf is breathtaking," Alexander says as he stalks towards me still in his human form. "I have never seen a white wolf in person before."

He reaches out his hand to stroke Adeline's fur but she snaps at his hand when his hand is within inches of her fur. A rough snarl erupts from behind me and I realize that I have forgotten that Raphael is behind me. Adeline continues to inch her way away from Alexander not caring about the evil growls that she hears from behind her. Out of the corner of her eyes I see the King's guard slowly inching their way around me. I had kept my focus on Alexander for too long and the guards have now fully surrounded me. I have no chance for escape.
