13. Dream

Henrietta

It was strange how he looked so familiar yet I was only seeing him for the first time. His face flashed across my memory over and over again and I tried hard to recall where I first met him.

From all I could see about him, he was a guest here and didn't know me, else why would he shut his eyes instead of acknowledging my presence.

"He had to be a guest." I whispered in a voice that held certainty while helping myself out of my dress. Normally, Chloe would have been the one to help me but since the incident at the garden, I am yet to set eyes on her.

The last time a maid was in my room, I had requested to know how she was fairing, I was told she was getting better. Her arm had been hurt from how strong Gwen held her and since I couldn't go to her, the least I could do was know how she was.

Slowly, I bent down and picked up the dress from the floor before proceeding to put on a lighter dress, a dress that would be quite comfortable to sleep in if I were to fall asleep.
