There was great rejoicing in the palace when Ross returned. The enemy faction had been defeated, their remaining warriors taken into custody, and the wolves that had answered Ross's call had finally returned to the surrounding forests.

And Ross couldn't forget the moment she had reached for Knox's hand. She always wanted him beside her. Because, despite everything, some part of her still wanted him.

Knox stood across from her in the private garden that evening. He watched her carefully. "I won't pressure you," he said.

Ross looked at him. "Good."

"I meant what I said."

"Which part?"

"All of it." She remained silent. Knox stepped closer, then stopped several feet away. "I know I can't erase what happened."

"No."

"I know apologies aren't enough."

"They aren't."

"I know you may never trust me the way you once did.” Ross's expression softened slightly. "But I want to try.”

His eyes met hers. Ross took a slow breath. "Then listen carefully."

"I'm listening."

"If I give you another chance, it will be my choice." Knox nodded. "No political arrangement."

"Agreed."

"No obligation because our families are connected."

"Agreed."

"No pretending that we're happy just because the kingdom expects it."

"I would never ask you to pretend again."

Ross studied him. "And if I decide tomorrow that I don't want this anymore?"

Knox's answer came immediately. "Then I'll respect your decision."

She hadn't expected that. The old Knox would have commanded. This Knox simply stood there and waited. Ross looked down at her hands. "I don't know if I can love you the way I once did."

Knox's voice softened. "You don't have to."

Her eyes lifted. "I don't?"

"No." He shook his head. "You don't owe me love because I'm your husband."

Ross's heart tightened. "Then what do you want?"

"You." The answer was simple. "I want you to choose me because you want me. Not because you feel obligated to."

He paused. "And if it takes years to earn that choice, I'll wait."

Ross stared at him then she stepped closer. Knox remained still. "I'll give you one final chance," she whispered.

His eyes widened. "Ross..."

"But understand this." He nodded. "This isn't forgiveness."

He nodded again. "I know."

"It isn't forgotten."

"I know."

"And it isn't a promise that everything will become perfect."

"I know."

She took another step. "This is simply me choosing to see whether the man I loved is still somewhere inside you."

Knox's eyes were already filled with emotion. "He is."

"Then prove it."

"I will."

Ross studied his face. Then she asked quietly, "What happens now?"

Knox looked at her. "Now?"

"Yes."

His expression softened. "Now I choose you."

Ross's breath caught. "Today?"

"Today."

"And tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow."

"The day after?"

"Every day." He stepped closer. "I will choose you every day, Ross."

Her eyes stung. She had spent so long wanting to hear those words and now she was finally getting them.

She suddenly reached up. Her fingers touched his cheek. Knox froze. She could feel his heartbeat beneath her palm. "You really are different," she whispered.

"I'm trying to be."

A small smile touched her lips. "Then let me see how good you're becoming."

Before Knox could respond, Ross leaned forward. Her lips touched his. The kiss was soft. Careful. Almost hesitant. For one second, Knox didn't move. He somehow seemed terrified that if he responded too quickly, the moment would disappear.

Then his hands gently settled at her waist. He kissed her back. There was no hunger in it. It was love.

Ross pulled away first. Knox stared at her. Neither spoke. Then— A massive howl exploded from inside him. "AWOOOOOO!" Ross jumped while Knox's eyes widened. The howl echoed through the palace. Windows rattled. Several birds flew from the palace roof. Somewhere in the distance, wolves answered.

Ross stared at Knox. "Was that your wolf?"

Knox looked genuinely embarrassed. "I think so."

Another howl shook the windows.

Nash's voice suddenly came from the garden entrance. "Oh, absolutely not!" Ross turned. Nash stood there with both hands over his ears. "Can someone please tell your wolf that this is a palace and not a concert hall?" Knox glared at him. Nash pointed toward the windows. "Look at them! They're shaking!" Another howl erupted. Nash sighed dramatically. "Even the wolf is being dramatic."

Ross covered her mouth, trying not to laugh. Knox looked at her. Then at Nash. "I can still order you executed."

Nash shrugged. "Of course. But you'd have to catch me first."

Ross laughed. The sound made Knox's expression soften. She had given him a second chance.

  • The Alpha King's Luna Has No Wolf    The King's Luna Is An Ancient Queen

Months later, the kingdom gathered beneath the silver banners of the Black Moon Kingdom. The grand courtyard had been transformed for the royal ceremony. Thousands of wolves and members of every major pack stood beneath the palace steps. Alphas. Betas. Warriors. Nobles. Servants. The same people who had once whispered about Ross. The same people who had called her defective. The same people who had watched her suffer because they believed she was powerless. Now they stood with their heads bowed. Ross stood beside Knox at the top of the royal stairs. She wore a long silver gown that shimmered beneath the moonlight. Her pregnancy was visible now, and Knox remained close beside her without ever making her feel trapped. He had changed. For months, he had proved it. He had listened. He had respected her decisions. He had defended her without speaking over her. He had learned that loving Ross meant allowing her to stand on her own feet. Knox reached for her hand. Ross looked at him.

  • The Alpha King's Luna Has No Wolf    The Alpha Who Feared Losing His Luna

Knox had changed. Ross noticed it most during the smallest moments. He no longer demanded to know where she was going. He asked. He no longer ordered guards to follow her everywhere. He offered protection and allowed her to decide whether she wanted it. He no longer entered her chambers without permission. He knocked. And when Ross told him no, he accepted it. The kingdom noticed too. The terrifying Alpha King was still terrifying.nHe could silence an entire council with one look. He could make warriors tremble with a single command. But around Ross, he seemed to have learned restraint. He didn't protect her by controlling her anymore. He protected her by standing beside her. That became especially obvious during the council meeting. Ross sat at the head of the table. Knox sat beside her. Nash stood behind them, looking far too entertained. The meeting had been going smoothly until Alpha Marcus of the Northern Territory rose from his seat. "I question the Queen's authority." The r

  • The Alpha King's Luna Has No Wolf    The Queen's Power

Ross sat quietly against the cold stone wall. Her wrists were still bound. The enemy guards stood outside the chamber, convinced their restraints on her were enough to contain the most powerful woman in the kingdom. They were wrong. Ross slowly looked down at the silver bindings around her wrists. They had been designed to weaken her connection to wolves. But they had misunderstood the source of her power. She didn't need a wolf. She was the bloodline that wolves obeyed. Ross closed her eyes. For a moment, she listened. Beyond the stone walls, she could hear a pack of wolves. Dozens of wolves. No. Hundreds. Their heartbeats moved beneath the forest like a distant drum. Ross reached for them. This time, she didn't force her power. She simply called. Come. The response was immediate. A deep rumble rolled through the forest. The guards outside exchanged confused looks. "What was that?" Another growl answered. Th

  • The Alpha King's Luna Has No Wolf    The Queen Is Kidnapped

That morning, Ross walked through the eastern gardens alone, enjoying the cool breeze against her face. She had almost reached the ancient fountain when she stopped. Something felt wrong. The birds had gone silent.Ross slowly turned. She saw nothing. Only trees and their flowers that had fallen down form the trees and the distant sound of the palace bells. Her instincts sharpened. "Who's there? No answer. Then the shadows moved. Three figures emerged between the trees. Ross's eyes narrowed. "You shouldn't be here."One of them smiled. "You're coming with us, Your Majesty."Ross's ancient power stirred beneath her skin. She didn't panic. "Try."The first attacker lunged. Ross raised her hand. But before she could command the wolves around the palace, something struck the back of her head. Pain exploded through her skull. Her vision blurred. She heard someone shout. "Now!"A strange silver powder filled the air. Ross staggere

  • The Alpha King's Luna Has No Wolf    Why She Might Love Him Again

Ross barely slept that night. Knox's request kept echoing through her mind: Just one chance. She had spent two years wishing he would look at her differently. Now that he finally did, she wasn't sure what to do with it.Standing beside the tall windows of her chamber, Ross watched the first light of morning spread across the kingdom. Once, she had dreamed of waking beside Knox. Once, she had believed being his wife meant she had finally found someone who would protect her heart.nShe had been wrong. But perhaps she had not been wrong about everything. Because before Knox became cruel, there had been another man.A man she had loved. Ross closed her eyes. She remembered the first time he had defended her. They had been newly married when one of the older nobles made a cruel remark about her lack of a wolf. Knox had turned toward him with such coldness that the entire room had fallen silent. "You will not speak about my wife that way."Ross had been
