Chapter 5: Visit

Later, we would be led along a corridor from behind the door until we arrived at the stage where we would be showing our bodies to be sold off to a beast and be a mistress for one month. And the money that would be placed on my head would be sent directly to Austin. He was one of the second on my list to kill, along with many others.

But it's not like I would be under a man's control for a month. I would escape as soon as I got the chance.

When I heard the door open once more to reveal Austin, I let out an exasperated breath and dragged my fingers through my hair. He brazenly swept his eyes over us while whistling, but we were too preoccupied with looking presentable to spare him a glance. Much he deserves.

I knew he would visit. Heck, I even saw more of his men going in and out of this place yesterday and earlier. It was entirely plausible though because rogues felt safer in packs, especially in their cases where they were being hunted by a lot of werewolves right now.

Austin's enthusiastic grin appeared when his eyes met mine. While I waited for him to approach the couch where I was sitting, I clicked my tongue. The couch dipped at his weight when he sat next to me, draping his arm on the backrest.

"There's a lot of commotion out there because of the fool of an Alpha King," Austin whispered, sliding his calloused finger on my bare shoulders while I remained still. He was in a good mood today because money would be in his hands before this day ended.

His attention remained on the mirror in front of us, meeting my eyes in the reflection. My countenance held nothing but coldness, which seemed to both interest and tense him.

"What do you think about him, Florence?" he continued inanely, simply wanting to know others' opinions about their Alpha King, whom he didn't acknowledge.

I looked down at my red-painted nails as if they were the most interesting thing in the room. "Strong. Epitome of power, leadership, and..." I met his gaze in the mirror, smirking, "Royalty."

I added seamlessly as his entire face darkened and displayed a hint of rage, "He was our Alpha King. A pureblooded Lycan. The strongest creature in our kind. And he will remain just that for a very long time."

In a blur, his hands were on my neck, strangling me. I was thrown against the backrest by the force. I heard the women in the room screaming in horror while scrambling to back away. I simply smirked at the deadly glare of Austin.

His eyes were turning a shade of gold, and I could feel his wolf close to resurfacing. Nasya stayed alert in my subconscious, waiting to be given control over my body. But I didn't have to expose my wolf to this scumbag. He was undeserving, and I didn't need to.

Austin squeezed my neck, growling low enough for me to hear, "You slut, you are seriously testing my patience." My face slowly turned red from the lack of oxygen when someone spoke.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Madam Barbara shouted in disbelief, marching towards us and then pulling a gun, pointing it at Austin's head. "Let her go, you dumbass."

Austin harshly shoved me to the side before backing away from me and facing Barbara with a gun now pressed into his chest. He spat before easily snatching the gun from the old woman's hold, "Stop meddling in others' business, old hag, or this bullet will go in your wrinkled brain!"

Barbara remained unfazed by the

threat. "You're in my territory, boy, and the moment you let that woman enter my club, she was under my care until she was auctioned. I don't care about the issue you have with her, but I will not let you damage my goods."

Austin raised the gun to Barbara's face. "Are you fucking threatening me?"

I gasped for air, clutching my neck. I was breathing heavily, filling my lungs with air, glaring at the back of Austin's head while he pointed the gun at Madam Barbara. I stood up, fixing my dress.

"You want money, right? What do you think the man who will buy me will think about the red marks on my neck?" I spoke casually despite the chaos, grabbing their attention.

Austin faced me, aiming the gun at me. "I don't care. I will just shoot you right now—"

I stepped forward, making sure to press my body against his and placed my soft and small hand on his chest. I suppressed the smirk threatening to escape when I felt him tense. I slid my fingers down my clothed chest. In a sultry tone, I spoke, "I won't back down from our bargain. Let me give you that money."

When I felt his member harden, I backed away and crossed my arms, making my breasts even more prominent, noticing how his gaze shifted to them.

"So?" I added.

Austin gritted his teeth, putting down the gun. "Don't fuck with me, Florence. If you do anything funny, I swear, I will hunt your little friend, and let's say this old hag as well," he gripped Madam Barbara's skinny arm. He smirked evilly, "You know what I can do, right? So think carefully. Be a good tramp there so I can get my money."

He then roughly pushed Madam Barbara before leaving, slamming the door shut. Lynne and the other women looked at me in horror, but I focused on Madam Barbara to assess her condition. But the old woman, in a heartbeat, accused me.

"Why did you rile him up intentionally?" she said in frustration.

I shrugged dismissively. "I just felt like it."

"You're close to death, young lady."

"No, I'm not. He will not kill me, I know," I said confidently.

"You're crazy," one of the women chimed in.

I couldn't help but laugh. "So I've been told."

With a shake of her head, Barbara announced, "Get back to what you're doing. Finalize yourself and get ready. You will be called maybe after five minutes." She pointed to me. "And you, go hide those hand marks on your neck."

I watched Barbara disappear from the door while the women went back to their places, purposefully avoiding me. Even Lynne avoided looking at me. Is it their first time seeing such a violent act? We are werewolves. Violence was a part of our everyday lives.
