Then one of the tree branches snapped open, and Caden appeared, the guards stood frozen.
My vision was blurry, but I could still see when Caden stepped out from behind one of the trees.
His sharp eyes burned with something fierce. He looked like he was about to kill someone.
The guards did not get the chance to run away before Caden grabbed one, moving so fast I could barely see him.
The first guard dropped to the ground after one hard punch to the face. The second guard swung at him, but Caden caught his wrist and snapped it like a stick. His growl was deep and filled with so much anger.
“You don’t touch what’s mine,” he snarled.
The guards were nothing to him, as I watched him tear through them like they were paper.
When the last guard fell, Caden turned to me.
I tried to get up, but my arms were shaking too much. Fear and pain held me down, so I fell back to the ground, my vision spinning.
I thought he would leave me there and would walk away like I didn’t matter.
But he didn’t.
He walked over, breathing hard. And without saying a word, he scooped me up and held me in his arms.
I wanted to fight him and scream. But I was too weak to do any.
I pressed my bloody hands against his chest, my voice coming out in a soft, broken whisper.
“Don’t take me back to Mason,” I begged, my throat dry and burning.
His arms tightened around me.
“I’m not taking you to him,” he said, his voice low and rough. “I’m taking you with me.”
My head spun. I wanted to ask why, but everything went dark before I could speak.
When I woke up, I was in a strange room. Soft sheets were under me, and I had been cleaned up nicely in a new dress. My body ached everywhere while my skin burned from cuts and bruises. My throat was dry and my head still hurt.
For a moment, I forgot where I was.
Then it all rushed back when I remembered the chase.
The fall.
The blood on my hands.
And Caden, my mate. The man who rejected me and resold me to another who unknowingly turned out to be his most hated enemy. Mason.
And now, he had taken me away, because he couldn't stand the sight of Mason, squeezing my ass and breasts in public.
I sat up quickly, my heart racing in my chest.
Suddenly, the door creaked open. And I watched Caden walk in. His sharp eyes immediately locked on me.
“Where am I?” I asked.
“My home,” he said.
“Why bring me here?” I whispered.
He didn’t answer right away. He just walked over and sat in the chair by the bed, his hands resting on his knees.
“You are safe here,” he said. “No one can find you. Not Mason. Not his guards. Not even my pack.”
I stared at him in confusion. “Why would you hide me from your own pack?”
His jaw tightened. “Because they would tell me to send you back. They would see you as a weakness.”
“And you don’t want me?,” I said, my voice sharp. “You made that very clear from the start.”
His eyes burned into mine. “I don’t want you.”
His words cut deep, as the bond between us pulled at me like chains.
“Then why did you save me?” I whispered, my anger rising.
He stood up and walked to the window, turning his back to me.
“Because no one else gets to hurt you,” he said coldly. “Not Mason. Not anyone.”
“You are confusing, you know that,” I said in a shaky voice. “You say you don’t want me anymore, but you are the one who brought me here and hid me.”
He turned to face me sharply. His eyes were dark now and full of something I couldn't understand.
“I never said I wouldn’t touch you,” he said, in a low and rough voice, “I don’t want you as my mate. But that does not mean I do not want your body.”
His words hit me hard as heat rushed through me, mixed with anger and something else I didn’t want to feel.
I got out of the bed. My legs were weak but I forced myself to stand.
“You can’t have me,” I snapped. “You rejected me, remember?”
He crossed the room in three fast steps. Grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him.
“You are mine,” he said in a deep voice. “You have always been mine. I just didn’t want to admit it.”
I slapped his hand away. My heart pounded so loudly I could barely think.
“I don’t want you,” I whispered.
“Then why does your body shake when I touch you?” he whispered back, his voice soft and dark.
Gosh! I hated this man.
I hated the way my skin burned where he touched me.
I hated the way my heart wanted to believe him.
So I tried to pull away, but he held me tighter.
“You think you can fight me, huh?” he whispered, his breath brushing my lips. “You think you can hate me enough to push me away?”
“I hate you so much,” I spat in spite. “Because you are my enemy.”
His smirk grew slow and dangerous. “Good. I like it when you fight.”
His thumb brushed slowly over my bottom lip.
“You don’t trust me? Fine,” he said. “But your body already trusts me. It is begging for me.”
I bit his thumb so hard like it would draw blood, but he didn’t pull away. He pressed harder, his eyes burning into mine.
“You rejected me. You called me useless,” I snapped, my anger rising. “You said I was a worthless human, now you're talking about trust?.”
He pushed me back onto the bed, pinning me down.
“I. Don't. Care. You don’t get to run away from me, mate,” he growled. “You don’t get to choose, cause you are mine.”
“Then claim me properly,” I spat, daring him. “Or are you too much of a coward?”
“I will never claim your heart,” he whispered, “but I will ruin your body.”
His eyes darkened as he said that, while his chest rose and fell hard, then he leaned closer, his lips crashing into mine in a hungry rough kiss.
When he finally pulled back, his eyes were wild and his breathing was heavy. He turned his gaze at me like he had made a mistake, while I watched him walk to the door.
“You don’t leave this house, and you don’t talk to anyone. You stay here because you are mine.”
I sat up with trembling legs.
“You don't get to keep me here, I’m not your prisoner,” I spat.
He looked back at me, then he smirked.
“You are not my prisoner,” he said. “But you are my plaything.”

The music was loud, as laughter filled the air as Mason’s pack celebrated in the grand hall. The lights were warm and golden, but I felt none of it.Mason’s arm was around my waist. His fingers pressed into my side as he smiled and greeted his guests. But suddenly, I felt him freeze. His grip on me tightened sharply, making me wince.I followed his gaze across the room. And my heart nearly stopped.Caden.He stood near the entrance, dressed in black, his jaw tight and his dark eyes locked on me like fire. There was something wild and dangerous in them. His hair was messy, like he had just been in a fight. His chest rose and fell slowly, and the way he looked at me made my whole body react strangely. The mate bond between us came alive like a spark catching fire.I could smell him, even from here and it hurt. But I didn’t move or run into his arms.I stayed exactly where I was.I turned toward Mason, letting my body melt into his, while I faked a sweet smile as I said, loud enough f
I didn’t even have time to breathe before the car doors slammed shut behind me.The drive felt endless. My heart pounded with every turn the wheels made. I looked out the window, but I wasn’t really seeing anything. My head was too full of noise. I had already lost everything. My home. My name. My mate. Now, I was being taken to a man who might do worse than all the rest. A man who might not stop until he broke every piece of me.When the car stopped, the door flew open, and I was yanked out without warning. My bare feet hit the cold stone driveway, and I nearly fell.I had survived Uncle Greg. I had survived Caden’s rejection.Maybe I could survive this too.But deep inside, I wasn’t sure. Could I really make it through under another Alpha’s control? Maybe another cruel one? They dragged me into a huge house. It was beautiful, like something out of a dream, but everything about it felt cold and wrong. Then I saw him.He stood at the top of the stairs, hands tucked in his pockets, sta
The man’s fingers dug into my arm like claws as I stumbled beside him, barefooted and shaking from the cold, as my skin burned under his grip. He didn’t care that I winced, or care that I could barely walk.“Keep walking, bitch,” he spat, his voice sharp like broken glass.I didn’t ask where we were going. I already knew it was nowhere good. At the edge of the street, a black car waited, and two huge men in black stood by it. They didn’t smile or blink. Their eyes moved over my body like they were measuring a thing. Like I was already bought.Behind me, Uncle Greg lit a cigarette. His face looked relaxed, as if he had just finished a hard job and was proud of himself. He didn’t even glance at me.“Is this her?” one of the men asked. His voice was low and cold.Uncle Greg nodded. “Yeah. Human. Still a virgin. Should be perfect for what your Alpha wants.”The taller man stepped forward and looked me over. His stare made my skin crawl.“She looks weak.”Uncle Greg chuckled and blew out
