LOGINAmma’s Point of View
"What’s wrong with her?"
The door clicks shut, and Evander’s voice cuts through the room. He walks back toward the bed, his massive shoulders throwing a long shadow over my daughter's small frame. His dark eyes flick from me to Isadora with curiosity.
Mirabel doesn't even look up from her clipboard. She just keeps clicking her pen, ignoring him.
"I asked you a question, Omega," Evander all but growls.
The air in the room suddenly grows thick. The suffocating pressure of his Alpha command ripples outward, a silent wave of power meant to force any lower-ranking wolf to their knees. A normal Omega would have been trembling on the floor by now.
Mirabel doesn't even flinch. She just sighs, adjusts her stethoscope around her neck, and slowly turns to face the most powerful werewolf in the world.
She tucks her hands casually into the pockets of her white lab coat. A mocking smirk plays on her lips.
"You were right, Naya," Mirabel says, slanting a look toward me. "He really is an asshole."
Evander’s jaw tightens so hard a muscle jumps in his cheek. His eyes narrow into lethal slits, his wolf clawing at the surface. "Careful, pup. I might forget you're wearing a white coat and teach you some manners."
"Careful, Your Majesty," Mirabel fires back, taking a deliberate step forward until she is standing right in his path, shielding Isadora’s chart from his view. She doesn't bow. She doesn't lower her gaze. "I am a chief pediatric surgeon with a medical license recognized by the state. You are a disruptive variable causing my patient's heart rate to spike. So unless you are either on the birth certificate or a guardian, back the hell up and let me do my job."
"Enough." I step in, putting myself between the two of them before Evander's temper tears the room apart. My chest rises and falls. "Please, Evander. Just go back to your world and leave us alone."
He ignores me, his eyes locked onto Mirabel as if deciding whether to crush her skull or respect her spine. "Does the child know I exist?" he demands, his voice dropping to a dangerous rumble.
"No," I whisper, my voice shaking. "And she won't. So please."
"No," Evander snaps, cutting me off. "Since you won't tell me anything, I'm taking her out of here. She's going back to the pack"
With a swift, ruthless motion, he pulls out his phone and starts stabbing at the screen. My eyes dart between him and the tubes hooked up to Isadora's arms.
"Yes? Get the jet ready," Evander barks into the receiver, his dark eyes locked onto my face, watching me break. "I want it fueled and on the tarmac in thirty minutes. And make sure the pack's medical team is on board."
"Please, stop!" I shout, lunging forward, but he doesn't even blink, continuing to hand down orders that will uproot my entire life.
"Isadora is mine!" I scream, a guttural, desperate growl tearing from my throat. For the first time in five years, the suppressed Alpha blood in my veins surges, throwing off a faint, electric spark of my true scent. "She is mine alone, Evander! I will kill you before I let you lay a hand on her!"
Evander doesn’t say a word. He just looks down at me, a dark, amused twist to his lips. He thinks I'm still the weak, broken girl who followed him around the Onyx Claw packhouse, begging for a scrap of his attention.
"And you are both mine," he says flatly, tucking the phone back into his pocket. "I have a brief meeting with Alpha Kian down at the packhouse. Get her ready for transport. I will be back in ten minutes."
"We are not going anywhere," I hiss through my teeth.
"Oh, but you are, Amma," he whispers, leaning down until his lips almost brush my ear, his scent wrapping around me. " You can fight me all you want, Amma. You're still getting on that jet. So don't test me. Be a good girl and pack your things."
He turns on his heel and strides out, the wooden door clicking shut behind him.
The second he is gone, the adrenaline drains from my body. My legs turn to water, and my knees give out, sending me sliding down the wall.
"What am I going to do?" I look up at Mirabel, tears finally spilling over my lashes, feeling defeated. "Mirabel, what do I do? He's going to take her."
If I don’t get Isadora out before sunrise, Evander fucking Colwill will take my daughter and everything I have sacrificed to protect.

Amma's Point of ViewHis hand is locked around my elbow so tightly, and I can't shake it off no matter how hard I try. My feet stumble to keep up with him as he drags me down the hallway, away from the room. Away from Isadora." Let go of me," I hiss, twisting my arm, but he doesn't even slow down." No." He doesn't even bother looking at me when he says it." You don't get to just say no to me, Evander."" Watch me." He pulls me into an empty exam room and shuts the door behind us. The lock clicks. "I've spent five years looking for you."My back hits the wall as he finally lets go of my arm. I rub at the spot where his fingers were, glaring up at him. "You don't get to drag me around like I'm still one of your members."" You are still mine." He says it matter-of-factly. "And apparently, so is that little girl in there."My stomach drops. Of course I knew this would happen. I had a gut feeling that it would happen today, and it did." Don't," I whisper, stepping back."Don't what? D
Evander's Point of ViewI found her. I found her after almost giving up. I found her in this place, and there’s no fucking way I'm leaving her here. She fucking ruined my life, and now she needs to pay for that. When the alarm goes off, she takes off running without looking at me. Running from me. Straight toward that room. I don't move for a second. My hand is still warm from touching her cheek. From feeling her whole body lean into it before she caught herself. She can lie to me all she wants. Her body doesn't know how to lie. It still remembers who it belongs to, and I can use that to my advantage. But there's a strange scent about her. I lean into the space she just left, waiting for the familiar, intoxicating rush of her true pheromones. I want the sweet, sun-warmed vanilla and wild strawberries that used to drive my wolf insane. Instead, I get nothing. The air carries only the smell of hospital bleach, sterile latex, and a strange, bitter chemical undertone. It’s a flat, d
Amma’s Point of ViewThe world around me loses its sound. The beep of heart monitors, the squeak of shoes on tile, Judith's footsteps behind me. It all fades into a rushing roar in my ears.Evander.He hasn't changed. If anything, the last five years have carved harder lines into his jaw. The arrogance he used to wear so easily has turned into something else now. Something colder. The Alpha aura rolling off him is thick, suffocating. The suppressants in my veins burn as my wolf claws at the chains, desperate to throw her head back and howl for her mate.No. He is not your mate. Not anymore.I shove my hands into the pockets of my lab coat, so he won't see them shaking. I breathe slowly, forcing my face blank. I am Dr. Naya Edwards. A human pediatric surgeon. Amma’s Point of ViewMy heart is thumping, an ache in my chest that won't go away. My eyes shift to the red light above the door, then begin to count. For five years, I have lived a life of uncertainty. Always looking over my shoulder and praying no one recognizes me. Five years ago, I gave up my position as Luna and chose my baby over everything else.Six hours. That's how long the surgery has taken. I get up from the chair and start pacing around. She will be fine, I assure myself, but I can't shake off the feeling that something might go wrong. That they might find us.I stare at the door, praying to a goddess I don't even believe in anymore. The last time, the surgery didn't take this long. Even as a doctor, I can't get closer to my own child; all I do is stare, hoping and praying that my child is safe.I hug myself, reminding myself that I am stronger than I believe. That everything will eventually work out. When the surgery light goes off, I quickly walk forward, waiting for the
