I'm writing more of Xavier's perspective because I want us to see what he sees. He's drawn to Mia, but he's withdrawn at the same time because he knows she'll leave soon. ... Thank you for reading. I didn't know if have this much support when I started this book. Thank you for motivating me. I appreciate it
Mia ran to the utter part of the woods, and she shifted back into her human form. They had wandered many miles off throughout the night after they shifted. As their shift ended and the morning approached, they sort to get dressed, returning to where their clothes were.Mia's eyes searched around for Xavier, but she didn't find him. He was giving her privacy, just like he had done in the last few shifts. She slid her feet through the second booth, and she steadied herself on her feet. She glanced up and Xavier dashed to stand before her. A surge of wind blew over her face at the impact of his lightning speed."You startled me," she pointed out, placing a hand on her chest for emphasis. His eyes twitched, and a smirk curled at the corner of his mouth. "Not intentionally," he replied, but she found that hard to believe.Unlike the last full moon where he let her take the lead, he had led the course this month. He had much likeness for hunting and he flexed his speed and strength in her fa
Elliot stepped forward, and Xavier’s eyes told him he was making a mistake. “We are not carrying out our will here, King Xavier. This is the desire of our father, stated in the scroll you just received,” he spoke up in his defence. “Our father’s desire? Is that a joke?” Xavier asked in an absurd tone. Mia watched the drama unfold. She didn’t know the alpha of alphas would be one making such crazy demands. Perhaps she didn’t know him. “This isn’t a joke. I believe our father is doing what he thinks is right.” Xavier did not like that, Elliott replied to him. “I already told you to leave!” he sneered. “Don’t make me shove you out.” Elliot took a step back. “You will defile our father’s request.” “I will defile the moon goddess’ request if she had made such insane demands.” Xavier bit back. “Enough, both of you!” Mia snapped at them and their eyes turned to her. “Is this a necessary procedure?” she asked the priest, maintaining a calm voice through it all, despite raging on the ins
Sanctums: An inner room in a holy place such as a temple. While Xavier and Elliott waited at the outer court of the temple, Mia and the priests proceeded into the sanctum. Until today, Mia didn’t know they could be so many in the temple. The younger priest cracked the door open to what Mia suspected was the examination room, and she and Marco, the older priest made their way inside. At the centre of the room was a small bed stretched out. A stringed pole that lifted it a few feet above the ground held it up. There were thick chains on both sides of the bed which would hold still whoever was in bed while the examination took place. There was a tall stool beside the bed, almost the same height as it. On the stool were a few bowls, one holding scissors, knives, needles, and a silver tube. The second bowl held clean water and a bottle in it, and the third bowl appeared empty. Her heart skipped at what she just saw and immediately regretted agreeing to this. To say this scared her was
Mia stepped towards the First resort, the largest restaurant in the capital, at the heart of the city. The resort was a getaway site where most nobles could come to and have a good time. According to Elena, they had some of the best foods and reception and though Mia had grown up at the capital all her life; she didn’t know this. Mia had looked forward to meeting Koz and Elena since his return from Klean, but she hadn’t had the luck until a week ago. She gave him a late welcome and suggested showing both him and his wife around. But it turned out they knew the capital better. Despite being born and raised in the capital, he had to move to the west after he became the alpha of his pack. Once in a while, he visited and stayed a few days along with his lovely wife. They both made a perfect matching pair for alpha and Luna. Since the places Mia knew the nook and cranny of were limited, she asked Elena to pick a place she thought would be perfect and she had. Mia informed the alpha ki
“Or what?” she demanded, glaring daggers at him. Her grave audacity made him boil. Yes, he was being protective, but it was for good measures. A few days ago, he had received an anonymous threat letter directed at him and the queen, and that had made him double the guard around the palace. He had increased hers as well and although there was a scowl on his face when he did; she said nothing. No, he wasn’t scared. He could protect himself from any attack, but he was scared for her. He didn’t want any harm coming to her while he figured out who could be behind the threats. What kind of King would he be if he didn’t do everything to protect his queen? A few names came across his suspicious radar. Elliott Ainsworth was first on the list because the snake was deceitful and sly ever since they were younger. Xavier knew that despite being slow to speak and act, he was vicious and unpredictable. They never liked each other, and they never hid that fact.
The lust that brewed in Xavier’s eyes as he beheld her shook her to the core. She wasn’t his type. She was neither fair nor beautiful. Yet, he stared at her body with so much desire; she shuddered from the inside out. She felt cold being naked to his gaze, but the lust and desire in them had warned her up. He lowered his face to stop hers, keeping their gazes locked on each other the entire time. At the touch of his lips, her eyes fell close, too taken by the feel. She had dreamed and longed for more of him, more of his kiss, his touch, his caress, for so long and she would finally get it. He kissed her slowly, flicking his tongue over her bottom lip and then nipping at them. Her lips parted as she longed for more from him. He didn’t give her more. Instead, he traced her lips and pulled them between his teeth and sucked them lightly. “Your lips taste so good for what you say with them sometimes.” He moaned and trailed kisses over her jaw, down her neck.
Two things crossed Xavier’s mind when he took Mia to bed. One, there will be a lot of change from now and two, there would be no going back. He didn’t want to go back, not when he stared at her and saw the much need and desire she had for him. She submitted to him, without fear or hold backs. She was so responsive and he needed her. He needed to have her, feel her walls around him, clenching him hard, pulling him along with her until they were both spent. Taking her would consummate their union and seal their bond as husband and wife. It also meant she would become his Luna, and he asked himself if he was ready for that, if he could trust her. There had always been something he could trust in them and even now, behind her lustful gaze, it showed. He could trust himself with her. And so he did, surrendering and reaping nothing but satisfaction. He collapse on the bed, “Catch your breath. I still want more.” His raspy voice informed her, and she didn’t object. He took her again,
Hours later, Xavier cracked the door to the study open and stepped inside. He would carry on with the day as if nothing happened. Something did. His heart was crushed, but he had to hold his head up and move on from all of it. It would be for the best. He gave the guards instructions to not bother him unless the matter at hand was an urgent one. He picked a new book from the shelf titled: You And The Three Stars. It looked like an interesting book, and he needed to keep his mind preoccupied. If he succeeded in clearing his mind, then he would try to figure out what to do with the threat letter he got. He flipped the pages open and took a seat to read the first page. It was a brilliant book, but sadly, it was a romantic one. He didn’t put it down, though. He kept reading how Ivan lost Tomi to the three stars. It was a pure case of negligence and he wished he could see Ivan and tell him how dumb he was for not seeing all the signs To
