CHARLES.

He smiled and looked up.

“She is a maid in the castle!” He said it, and I was shocked.

Reed fell in love with a maid. That is impossible. He is a man who values power and does not do anything unless it will benefit him.

There is absolutely no way marrying a maid in my castle will benefit him, so why would he want to date a maid in the castle?

“A maid! Are you daft? Are you crazy? Did you hit your head outside?” The mother yelled at him, hitting him on his shoulder.

He calmly looked at his mother and smiled. 

“I am sure of my decision, Mum!” He said, and the mother was still unconvinced. She was so angry at the moment.

“What have you done to my son? Did you hypnotize my son? This is not going to work at all.” She yelled again and again.

“Mother, stop! I have always wanted whatever you wanted, but this time, this is my turn to choose. Love makes a man, and this time I choose the path!” He said to his mother in a harsh tone.

His mother immediately went mute and watched from the sidelines.

“King Charles! What do you think of my request?” Reed said, and I was shocked.

He has never called me King Charles. What is this?

A joke or a trap!

I only looked at Reed, who had business with not minding the mother who was sulking on the side. She was obviously not good with the arrangements her son was making.

But why should I care? 

“Are you sure you want a maid in my castle?” I asked him, and he nodded.

“Of course, a man knows what a man wants and goes for it. I don't want anything else but this particular maid of yours,” he said and chuckled.

“Okay! Call out the maid, and I will decide if I will allow her to go with you!” I said, and he shook his head immediately.

I immediately became alert. I always knew there would be a clause to what he is requesting. This is not the first time I am dealing with Reed, but he is full of shit!

“Don't see the maid; approve that you will give me the maid, and I will never bother you again!” he said, and I shook my head.

“She is a maid, not a property. I have to ask her if she wants to go with you or not!’ I said, and Reed laughed.

“I am not a kidnapper at all. I fell in love with this lady; of course, she is in love with me. We spoke, and she said, As long as you release her, she will go with me!” He said, and I sighed.

This is a very good bargain. Give him a maid, and he will never come back again!

Is it the power of love that is working, or what? Has Reed changed? Or this is another type of trap!

“Reed, if you can't go with the maid, you can't choose anything else, and you will never be able to return to this castle as well!” I warned him, and he smiled.

“Yes, I agree!” He said, and I nodded.

“I agree! Bring in the maid!” I said, and he laughed.

“Well, I do not know her by her name, but the butler does!” He said, and now I am suspicious of what he said at first.

How can he fall in love or want to possess a woman he doesn't know her name? What sort of arrangement is that? 

Looks so untrue to me!

“Really!” I asked, and he nodded with a smile. “Yes, call the butler; she knows who the lady is!” He said, and I sighed.

I looked at Danford, who was obviously not agreeing to the contract either!

“Go and get the butler for me!” I said, and he frowned at Reed before leaving the room to get the butler.

“My brother, I knew you really would do anything I wanted for me!” He said, and I rolled my eyes at him.

“I only answered this because it was within my power, nothing else,” I replied to him, and he chuckled.

“We might not be biological brothers, but we have been together for a long while, and it is enough for us to be a nice family together!” He said, and I rolled my eyes and didn't answer.

I can't wait for the butler to come, and this issue will be over with.

“You seem anxious; it is just a maid you are giving away, not your throne!” He said, and I frowned at why I looked at him! 

“Mind your tone! I might take back what I want to give you!” I yelled at him, and he chuckled.

“A whole king going back on his words—that is a bad thing you hear even from outsiders!” He said, and I didn't say anything much.

After a few more minutes of awkward silence, I was finally able to see the butler and Dandord.

“Your Majesty!” The butler said, and I nodded at her.

“Tell me, have you met with Reed today?” I asked, going straight to the point, and she looked at Reed with a confused face.

“Yes, I have, your highness!” She answered and bowed to me again.

“Who is the maid that Reed said he is interested in, because he said he is interested in a maid, and you know the maid?” I said, and she looked back at him with confusion.

“I am not aware that Mr. Reed has an atom of interest in any of my maids!” She said it, and I was shocked. 

What is this? Why did Reed mislead me when there was no maid? What is he driving at?

“Are you certain, butler?” Reed said, and we all turned to look at him.

“Yes, you didn't tell me or notify me that you are interested in a maid, and none of them told me about meeting you!” She answered him with a tone of anger.
