CHAPTER 2

Raine woke up to silence, not the kind she knew. Not the quiet of Hill Town where distant cars hummed through the night. This silence was heavier.

Alive.

She tried to move but pain shot through her body, and she gasped softly. Her eyes fluttered open. Above her was not a cracked ceiling or dim warehouse light. It was a sky. Bright. Endless. Silver-tinted.And moving.Clouds drifted too slowly, like time itself had been stretched thin.

Raine sat up sharply. Her breath caught. She wasn’t in her apartment. She wasn’t in Hill Town. She wasn’t even in the world she knew.

She was lying on soft fur-lined bedding inside a large stone chamber. The walls were carved from ancient rock, glowing faintly with symbols she didn’t understand. The air was colder, fresher like standing deep inside a mountain forest.

Raine pulled herself back instantly. “What… is this place?” she whispered. The door creaked open. She flinched.

A woman stepped in dressed in simple dark clothing, her posture respectful but alert. “You’re awake,” the woman said softly.

Raine swallowed. “Where am I?”

The woman hesitated. “You are in the Ice Moon Pack.”

Raine frowned. “Ice… what?”

The woman studied her carefully. “You don’t know what you are?”

A strange unease crawled up Raine’s spine. “I’m a human being,” she said firmly. “And I want to go home.”

The woman didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she stepped aside. And then Raine saw him.

The man who saved her from her kidnappers stood at the entrance like he had been there the entire time, watching her without interruption.

Raine stiffened instantly. “You,” she said sharply. “You kidnapped me from the people who wanted to hurt me.”

Klaus didn’t deny it.Instead, he stepped inside. “No,” he said calmly. “I saved you.”

Raine laughed once, but it came out shaky. “Save me? From what? My life?”

Klaus’s eyes darkened slightly. “From death.”

Silence fell between them. Raine stared at him, trying to understand his expression but there was something about him that made it difficult to focus. Something… overwhelming. Like pressure in the air itself shifted when he was near.

He was dangerous. But not in the human way she understood. “You’re insane,” she said quietly.

Klaus tilted his head slightly. “You are injured. Confused. That is expected.”

“I’m not confused,” Raine snapped. “I was kidnapped from my apartment, and now I’m in… wherever this is.”

Klaus took a slow step closer.Raine immediately moved back.He stopped. For a moment, something flickered in his eyes annoyance, maybe… or something deeper. “You are in my territory,” he said. “The Ice Moon Pack.”

Raine frowned harder. “Pack?”

A faint shift in the air.Klaus exhaled slowly, as if deciding something. Then his eyes changed. A soft golden glow emerged beneath his pupils.

Raine froze.“What… what is that?”

Klaus studied her reaction carefully. “You truly do not know what I am.”

Raine’s throat tightened. “What are you talking about?”

The woman beside him lowered her gaze slightly. “He is the Alpha heir,” she said quietly.

Raine blinked. “Alpha heir of what?”

Klaus answered this time. “Werewolves.”

The word hit the room like a physical force. Raine stared at him. Then laughed again but this time it was disbelieving.

“Okay,” she said slowly. “I don’t know what kind of game this is, but I want to go home.”

Klaus’s expression didn’t change. “There is no game.”

Raine’s breathing grew uneven. “Werewolves aren’t real.”

“They are,” he said simply.

Silence.

Raine shook her head slowly. “No. That’s not possible.”

Klaus stepped closer again, more carefully this time.“Your blood recognizes mine,” he said.

Raine frowned. “What does that even mean?” But before she could step away, something inside her chest tightened. A strange pull. Like invisible strings tightening around her heart. Her breath hitched.

Klaus paused. So did she. “What… was that?” she whispered.

Klaus didn’t answer immediately.Instead, he looked at her with something unreadable. “The bond,” he said finally.

Raine shook her head quickly. “No. Stop saying weird things. I don’t understand any of this.”

Klaus turned slightly.“Leave us,” he ordered the woman.

She bowed and exited silently. Now it was only the two of them.Raine felt more exposed than before.Klaus watched her carefully.

“You were taken by humans who wanted you dead,” he said.

Raine froze.“How do you know that?”

“I saw it.” Taking he deep breath he starred at her for awhile as she tried to convince herself

Raine frowned. “That’s impossible.”

Klaus stepped closer again.

This time, she didn’t move back fast enough.

The air between them shifted dense, charged. “You are my mate,” he said quietly.

Raine’s eyes widened. “Your what?”

Klaus didn’t hesitate. “My Luna.”

Raine shook her head immediately. “No. No, I don’t belong to you or anyone. I don’t even know you.”

Klaus studied her face for a long moment. Then something softer crossed his expression. “You will understand,” he said.

Raine exhaled sharply. “I want to leave.”

Klaus didn’t respond immediately Instead, he turned slightly.“Not yet but soon.”

Raine’s frustration flared. “That’s not your decision.”

“It is,” he said calmly. “Until I am certain you are safe.”

Raine stared at him in disbelief.“Safe from what? You?”

A flicker of something dangerous passed through his eyes. But he didn’t respond.Instead, he turned away. And just like that, he left the room.

Outside the chamber  Ice Moon Pack Territory

After leaving the room Klaus stepped into the cold air.The entire territory stretched beneath him mountains, forests, stone-built homes carved into cliffs. Wolves moved across the grounds in human form, watching him carefully.

Zane Wolfe approached immediately. “You brought her here,” Zane said quietly.

“Yes.” He answered not looking at Zane

Zane frowned. “She doesn’t know what she is.”

“I know.”

Zane studied him. “And she rejected the bond?”

Klaus didn’t answer immediately. His jaw tightened slightly. “She is afraid.”

Zane exhaled. “Or human.”

Klaus turned sharply. “She is mine.”

Zane didn’t argue but he didn’t look convinced either. “She doesn’t understand this world,” Zane said. “If you force her—”

“I will not force her,” Klaus interrupted.

He  paused. Then softer, taking a deep breath he said calmly “She will choose.”

Raine sat alone on the bed, hugging her knees tightl her mind was spinning trying to grasp everything she was told Werewolves.Bond.Luna.None of it made sense and trying to understand made her headache

It had to be a lie.Or a hallucination.Or some elaborate kidnapping scheme. She looked around again. The room was real.Too real to vee imagination or hallucination

The silence outside was broken occasionally by distant howls. She flinched at every sound.A knock came at the door.Raine stiffened.

It opened slightly.A young man stepped in.“Don’t be scared,” he said quickly. “I’m not here to hurt you.”

Raine eyed him suspiciously.“Who are you?”

“Zane,” he said. “I’m… sort of his second-in-command.”

Raine frowned. “So you’re also part of this… werewolf thing?”

Zane scratched the back of his head. “Yeah.”

Raine exhaled sharply. “Great.”

Zane gave a small, awkward smile.“He doesn’t know how to talk to people properly,” he said.

Raine narrowed her eyes. “He kidnapped me.”

Zane winced slightly. “Technically… he saved you.”

“I don’t care what you call it,” Raine said firmly. “I want to go home.”

Zane looked at her for a moment then said quietly “You can’t leave here.”

Raine froze.“What do you mean I can’t?”

Zane hesitated.“Because you’re not safe there anymore, you where kidnapped in danger and i rescued you.”

Silence fell again.Raine’s voice dropped. “From who?”

Zane looked away slightly. “You really don’t remember? Humans.”

Raine’s heart pounded.“That doesn’t make sense.”

Zane didn’t answer.Instead, he said softly:“You’re not just human, Raine.”

Her stomach dropped.“What are you saying?”

But before Zane could respond further, the door opened again widely

Klaus stood there his gaze locked immediately onto Raine the air shifted instantly Zane stepped aside Raine stood slowly.“You need to take me home,” she said firmly.

Klaus didn’t respond immediately instead, he walked in slowly. “No,” he said finally.

Raine’s hands clenched. “Then I’ll leave myself.”

Klaus stopped in front of her.“You cannot survive outside this territory.”

Raine laughed bitterly. “I’ve survived my whole life just fine without you.”

Klaus leaned slightly closer his voice lowered “You are already bound to me.”

Raine’s breath caught again that strange pull returned stronger this time her heart stuttered.

Klaus noticed so did she.

And for the first time, fear wasn’t the only thing she felt something else was beginning something she didn’t understand yet and she couldn’t control it.

CHAPTER 4 The moment Klaus touched Raine’s wrist, the world shifted. It wasn’t subtle this time. It was violent. A surge of energy cracked through the space between them silent, invisible, but powerful enough that Raine felt it in her bones. Her breath caught sharply as her body reacted before her mind could understand what was happening.Klaus froze completely. For the first time since she met him, he looked unsettled. Not weak. He never looked weak but this time affected.Raine pulled her hand back quickly, like she had been burned. “What… was that?” she whispered.Klaus didn’t answer immediately. His gaze stayed fixed on her wrist, where his fingers had just been. “The bond,” he said finally.Raine stepped back. “Stop saying that like it’s supposed to make sense, since I arrived you have told me about this bond over a million times .”Klaus’s eyes lifted slowly to hers. “It does not need to make sense, unless you will to understand” he replied. “It exists.”Raine shook her head. “

CHAPTER 3 Raine didn’t sleep that night. She sat on the edge of the fur-lined bed, staring at the stone walls as though they might suddenly shift and reveal an exit. Every sound outside the chamber made her tense. Every distant step reminded her she was not in her world anymore. And the worst part? No one seemed to be coming for her living all by herself had made unsafe this At dawn, the silver sky outside the narrow window slowly brightened. The light didn’t behave like sunlight in Hill Town it was softer, almost glowing, like the world itself was lit by the moon even in the morning.Raine pressed her palm against her chest. That strange pull was still there. Faint now… but alive. She hated that she could feel it.A knock came. She didn’t answer immediately. The door opened anyway. Klaus Romano stepped in.Raine stiffened instantly. “You don’t knock?” she snapped.Klaus looked at her briefly. “You are not imprisoned.”Raine gave a dry laugh. “That’s funny, because I didn’t choose to b

The streets of Hill Town were quieter than usual that night. Raine Sinclair pulled her jacket tighter around her body as she stepped out of the small office building where she worked. The summer air was warm, but a strange chill followed her every step, like something unseen had decided to walk beside her.She exhaled slowly.Another late shift. Another exhausting day. All she wanted was her small apartment, a warm shower, and silence.Raine wasn’t special, not in the way people usually meant it. She had no idea she was being watched. No idea that her entire life was built on a lie older than she was.As she crossed the empty parking lot, she paused.Something felt wrong. Too quiet. Even the distant sound of cars seemed muted, like the world was holding its breath.Raine looked over her shoulder.Nothing. Still, the feeling didn’t leave. She quickened her steps. Behind her, in the shadow of a parked van, a man lowered his phone.“She’s moving,” he said quietly. “Confirm the location.”A
