°Amy’s POV°

It had been almost three weeks since Christian left.

Three weeks of texts that came in bursts — pictures of his dorm, random updates about the cafeteria food, and how his roommate snored loud enough to “vibrate the walls.”

I laughed at his messages, sent emojis, told him about home, about Grandma Lydia, about the baby — but there were still those quiet hours when his absence felt like an echo that didn’t stop repeating.

Still, I was okay. Or trying to be.

Mostly.

“Now, remember, Amy,” Grandma said one morning, adjusting her glasses and pointing her wooden spoon at me like it was a weapon. “No overworking yourself, you hear? You’ve got enough going on in there.” She nodded at my stomach.

I smiled. “It’s just part-time, Grandma. Four hours a day. I’ll survive.”

“You better. And don’t let them make you stand too long.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

“And eat before you go.”

“Grandma—”

She raised her eyebrows.

I sighed, grabbing a banana from the table. “See? Eating.”

She smiled then, sati

° Jeremy's POV °I looked away, how was I supposed to answer that?“It's just someone I'm tracking,” I told her as I dressed properly, zipping up my pants, and tightening my loose tie. “ You can let go this now.” I told her snatching the pictures away from her, placing it roughly on my desk.“You think I'd buy that? I know you have many lovers, but why go after one who's existence you're not sure about?” She asked almost raising her voice…..“I don't chase the wind, or the ghosts…” I cupped her face, looking into her glassy eyes, “Oh don't cry for me, you'd be third person who did,”SLAP!It was so hard on my right cheek that I could barely recover from the pain and shock.I didn’t move. Not when the sting on my cheek burned like fire. Not when Claire turned her back on me and started straightening her dress. The silence in the room stretched, thick and heavy like fog.She adjusted her bracelet, her hair falling over her shoulder. “You know,” she said quietly, “you don’t have to make

  • The Alpha Playboy Is My Mate.   Claire...

° Jeremy POV° I kept on wondering what would happen if Amy saw me…does she still hate me? And even if she still hates me , would she still forgive me? Many thoughts raced through my mind about her, coupled with business thoughts… it was as if my mind was at the edge of a cliff. I was going to lose it soon… No…I had totally lost it for real. I'd been yelling at workers since those photos arrived. Even at Claire… My father didn't just leave properties and businesses for me to take care of , but he also arranged a marriage for me, signing a contract with the equally powerful Alpha Damian without my consent. Claire was….my fianceé. The one with glittering emerald eyes and long wavy ginger red hair, she was tall, with slim legs and and thighs that seem glossy under the summer sun. “If you're having a hell of a day, you can just take a day off you know…” She said, obviously hurt because of the way I had welcomed her coldly. She sat on my desk, her legs were crossed, her t

  • The Alpha Playboy Is My Mate.   Let Her Hide.

°Jeremy’s POV°After I’d killed her…Even thinking those words still feels like swallowing glass. The first few weeks after it happened, I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. The reflection didn’t feel like mine anymore. It was like staring at a stranger wearing my skin, someone who’d ruined everything good that ever tried to love him.I don’t remember much from that night after she fell. Her gasps, the smell of her blood, and the sound of my own breathing….it all blurs together now. What I do remember, though, is waking up alone the next morning, cold and shaking, with her name still stuck in my throat. It’s been a year since then. A whole year, and the pain hasn’t dulled. It just… changed shape. These days, it’s quieter. It doesn’t claw at me like it used to. It just sits there, heavy and patient— waiting for me to think I’m okay so it can remind me I’m not.The morning light hit her grave when I got there. I’d brought white lilies this time. She liked lilies…said they loo

°Amy’s POV°For a second, I couldn’t move.Everything around me blurred — the cars, the chatter, the orange-pink sky. All I could think was, this can’t be happening right here. Then another contraction came, not too sharp but strong enough to make my knees tremble. That snapped me out of it.“Mia…” I whispered, my voice coming out shaky.I turned and pushed open the restaurant door, the bell above it jingling way too cheerfully for what was going on.Mia was near the counter, refilling cups. She looked up and froze the second she saw my face.“Uh, Amy? You okay?”“I—” I tried to sound calm, but my voice cracked. “I think… my water just broke.”Her eyes went wide. “Oh my God. Okay. Okay, okay. Don’t panic.”“I’m not—” I winced as another contraction rolled through me. “Okay, maybe I am a little.” Tessa words replayed in my head…this was it, wasn't it?She rushed over, already pulling her phone out. “We’re calling an ambulance.”“No, no, I can get a cab,” I said quickly. “It’s fine. I’m

  • The Alpha Playboy Is My Mate.   College Was Taking Him Away.

°Amy’s POV°The weeks went by faster than I thought they would.Maybe it was because every day felt like a countdown, even when we pretended it wasn’t.Christian was everywhere those days — fixing something around the house, running errands with Grandma Lydia, making jokes that didn’t always land but made me laugh anyway.Sometimes I caught him staring at his acceptance letter again, folded neatly in his wallet like it was something sacred. He didn’t bring it up much, but I could tell he was proud. Nervous too. And honestly? I was both for him.The baby had started kicking more often now, little nudges that came when I least expected them. He’d always stop whatever he was doing when I mentioned it…that the baby was kicking. One day, we were sitting on the couch watching some random movie, and I said, “ it's moving again.”He turned so fast you’d think I told him the house was on fire.“Where?” he asked, with his eyes wide.I laughed. “Inside me, genius.”“Oh.” He grinned, rubbing the
