Kai could not breathe. His heart was about to leap out of his chest.

“The mate bond did not break. She is not dead,” barked Blake in his head, wagging his tail nervously, terrified for their mate’s life.

A surge of power, fueled by hope, shot through Kai’s body. He lifted Darina’s lifeless body and ran faster than the wind to the clinic.

“SHE IS NOT BREATHING!” he screamed at the top of his lungs as he burst through the entrance.

Camilla, along with other doctors and nurses, rushed to him. They pulled Darina from his arms, placing her onto a rolling bed and whisking her swiftly to the ICU.

“She breathes, but her breath is very weak,” Camilla said, stopping him at the ICU doors. “Alpha, you can’t go in. Please, just let us do our job.” She disappeared behind the doors, and time froze for Kai.

He paced the waiting area, unable to bear the waiting. He needed to be next to his mate. Blake roared inside, just as impatie

  • The Alpha Prince's Fierce Bride   Swaying Under the Moon

Darina was discharged by the evening, and Kai brought her to the bedroom. "You don’t need to carry me. I can walk," she hissed, annoyed that he treated her like fragile glass. "You’re pregnant, and you just came from the hospital," he said softly, kissing her forehead. She rolled her eyes, clearly irritated. "Love, I am so sorry for what I’ve done to you. I’m ready to carry you and pamper you all my life, just please—" he pleaded, but Darina placed a finger on his lips. "Hush. There's nothing to be sorry about. Let’s just live our life. I love you." She pulled him into a hug, trailing kisses along his jaw, but he suddenly jumped back. "Oh my God, you didn’t eat your dinner. You and the babies must be starving. I’ll bring something." "You can ask, Omega," whispered Darina. "I’m hungry for something else." She nibbled his earlobe, but he stepped awa

  • The Alpha Prince's Fierce Bride   Where Light Returns

Kai was holding Darina's hand in silence. He had no energy to speak; hope was fading. What if she really would be sleeping for years? Left on life support, alive but dead at the same time. The sterile beeping of the machines gnawed at him, each sound like a cruel reminder of how uncertain their future was. Her faint scent was mixed with odour of antiseptic, too clean, too cold, as a sign of a cruel destiny. He whispered softly, leaning closer to her beautiful face, "I was always strong, more than just capable, even arrogant sometimes, but only now I realized that my strength was also nourished by you. You were supporting, inspiring, guiding me, loving fiercely, no matter what. You were my beacon of light in my darkest time. You are part of my soul. Without you, I will not be whole again. Please do not leave me and the babies, come back to us." His voice cracked, the words torn between prayer and confession. Darina was silent, lifeless in the sterile hos

  • The Alpha Prince's Fierce Bride   The Hard Choice

"My poor child," said Moon Goddess, caressing gentle Darina's cheek, "so young and had already so many challenges." Darina could not take her eyes of a goddess. Her aura enchanted her, warming her, healing her, letting joy and happiness spread through her viens. For the first time in a long while, she felt safe, as if all the wounds she carried in her soul had finally been noticed by someone greater than herself. "Where are we?" Asked Darina curiously, coking her head, her voice trembling with both awe and longing. Moon Goddess smiled and replied softly, "we are at the gate of the paradise. You deserve to be there for all your struggles and selfless actions." "Am I dead?" Said Darina peacefully, not afraid on anything. Her lips trembled slightly, but her eyes remained calm, almost relieved at the thought. "No, dear. I came to give you a choice. You can walk to paradise and live your life there, peacefully, happily. I also will spend

  • The Alpha Prince's Fierce Bride   Between Shadows and Light

Darina walked through the shadows. There was no way out and seen, but she was not ready to give up. She had to go back to people she loved. She fighted all her not so long life, and this fire was still burning inside of her. Sometimes, it felt like that fire was the only thing keeping her upright. Fear was crawling at the edge of her mind, whispering she would never escape this darkness, but she forced herself to breathe, to keep moving. She thought of her mate's smile, of her mom’s laugh, of Amber's silly jokes and held on to that. Scream of Jenna pulled her out of her thoughts. The shadows got thinner, and she saw Jenna laying on the hospital bed. She was twisting in pain, "Omg, I can't do it," she screamed on top of her lungs. Darina felt her pain, and it was heartbreaking to see always cheerful Jenna in this state. Darina’s chest ached as if the contractions were ripping through her own body. It almost felt unfair—how much joy was promised

"My love," Kai whispered to Darina, tightening his grip on her hand, "we already got rid of all the dark creatures. Of course, with huge help from Alaric and Darius. The Witch Council helped a lot, too, and your family. John and Silvia assisted as well. You’re wondering how they are doing." He paused, brushing away a single tear with his thumb. "They are close again, like before. Silvia has overcome her trauma, and now they’re even expecting a baby." He took a deep breath. "Your mom and Jenna were devastated to see you lying motionless, attached to machines. They wanted to stay, but your dad and brother dragged them back to the pack. Amber and Cassy have also started to be affected by hormones, bossing around Reed and Will. And me? I dream of being bossed too—by you. For you to wake up and give me pregnancy tantrums, to kick my sore ass again like you always do." Kai ran his hand through his hair and added
