It was the man from earlier. He stepped into Alpha Zane’s room and I swallowed.

Our gazes met and he arched a brow at me. Did he figure out who I was? I’d covered my face with dirt, so, I wouldn't be easily recognized.

“And who might this be?” Zane fired at them, glaring hard at the guy who was staring at me.

I held my breath, telling myself to keep cool and it was nothing, I’d managed to hide my identity up until now and I won't let it be easily blown.

The man turned his head to Beta Orion and they exchanged glances as the man shook his head.

“Perhaps, I misjudged your mate, Alpha Zane,” Beta Orion let out an awkward smile and Elara snapped her face to her father.

I let out a relieved sigh while Zane stepped forward. “Are you trying to insult me, Beta Orion, just because you were my father's beta doesn't mean I would tolerate any disrespect from you,” Zane fired.

“I'm sorry, Alpha Zane, I shall have my daughter blamed for this,” he said, lowering his head.
