11. Disappointed

Rafael did as he was told, and he was glad to put those people in their places.

It was about time that they all figured out who they were messing with.

And after Ashley was done dealing with those people, she went back to her room and started working a little.

She had asked her mother to give her files and books so that she can learn about business.

Ashely actually had basic knowledge about business but it was all theoretical knowledge and nothing practical, so she had to get some experience before she can surpass Sophy and reach to her mother's level.

However, she was still very pissed at Bryan for leaving her all alone, was it revenge on her for now showing up yesterday even if it was, she was pissed?

She a true blood alpha, was being stood up by a human! How humiliating, but this human was not an ordinary human. This damn human was her mate.

The next morning Bryan checked up on his brother, Aaron looked fine now and he was sleeping peacefully.

Bryan looked at his phone angrily as he had called someone millions of times, but she did not answer his call.

If it was not for Aaron, then Bryan would have killed this bitch, who was also known as his stepmother.

Bryan soon left the house, his mood was very bad, he hated to see Aaron in pain and was looking around for medicine for him, but god knows what kind of poison was given to him that is so hard to cure.

But Bryan knows that he has to hurry because he can't see his brother in pain any longer.

While thinking about all this and his life problems, he finally arrived at the company and parked his car, and got down from it before walking into the building.

He went straight to the elevator and pressed the button of the floor of his office but before the door closed someone pushed their hand in between them, preventing it from getting closed and getting inside the elevator.

The woman sighed and smiled with relief and was about to press the button of the same floor as Bryan but when she saw that it was already pressed, she looked at the person behind her and smiled before greeting him, "good morning Mr. Shaw it's so nice to finally meet you."

Ashley said, and Bryan mentally groaned. He did not have the urge to entertain someone like her.

But he was at the office, and he has to be professional, so he smiled and greeted her back, "good morning Ms. Martin, I see that you finally have the time to show up and brace us with your godly presence."

Ashley raised an eyebrow before she laughed, "I see, you already hate me. I understand why, though, not appearing on the first day of work is a pretty bad first impression."

Bryan smiled as well and nodded as he added, "and the first impression is the last impression."

"Indeed, but I will try my best to change that."

"Let's see how you will do that."

"Sure."

Ashley hates Sophy a lot.

She hates Sophy so much that she can rip her apart into pieces and dug out her heart and drink her blood because right now she was seeing her with her mate, her Bryan to him like a fucking leech.

Yes, she knows that this is work, and yes she knows that she was being petty, but very sorry for her alpha instincts who just can see her mate talking to another woman and smiling at her.

And especially if that other woman is none other than Sophy, a fucking slut who ruined her life and her pack in her last life.

She was the reason why Ashley was unable to meet Bryan in her last life and now this Sophy was talking to her mate as if she knew him better than her, which to her dismay she did.

The fact that Sophy had met Bryan before her even in her last life pissed her off so much that she wanted nothing more than to go on a murder rampage.

But she took deep breaths and killed Sophy countless times in her brain. She killed her very painful thought and enjoyed doing that and this was what made her calm and prevented her from jumping at Sophy.

However, she was brought out of her trance once Bryan looked at her and said, "right Mrs. Martin?"

Ashley blinked as she had a shocked Pikachu face and was rather shocked and gulped as she has not expected Bryan to look at her so suddenly and ask about her opinion.

And now she was going to really kill herself because she did not hear anything, she does not remember even a word said by Bryan or discussed by everyone.

She was crying internally as she smiled and said, "yea...yeah right, Mr. Shaw."

What right? What were they even talking about? Ashley just said 'yeah right on a whim..

Sophy smirked and Ashely knew that she was fucked after she saw that smile and knew that Sophy knew how to read her face and tell that she was not listening at all so she said, "what were we talking about Mrs. Martin can you elaborate?"

Ashley clenched her fists and gulped as she knew that everyone was looking at her, and she was the true blood alpha, and to be looked down on like this and feel inferior to mere humans was enough for her to go to rage and jump at everyone who was smiling at her.

"Uh... Um..." Ashley started to speak, and she really did now know what to say she felt so dumb she felt so inferior but by the grace of the moon goddess thankful her dearest and most perfect mate spoke, "that would not be necessary to let's move on to the next topic, so let's talk about marketing."

Ashley sighed as she heard that and once again was impressed by her mate, he had done so many things to impress her already, like smiling at her and talking to her, and just existing was enough for Ashely to fall for him.

But she has done nothing to just embarrass herself before him.

And for that, she felt really guilty. She was really ashamed after the meeting was done and everyone got up to leave and so did Ashley but before she can even take a step Bryan said in a rather stern voice, "Please stay back Mrs. Martin I would like to talk to you."

And Ashley knew that she was fucked.

Ashley sighed and smiled, "yes Mr. Shaw."

Bryan just stared at her with his cold eyes as he leaned back on his seat and crossed his arms before his chest, looking at her up and down, "Why are you here again?"

"Um... to learn and to gain experience."

"And so far I cannot see you interested in any if these." Bryan spoke Ashley looked down as Bryan continued, "Ms. Martin if you are here solely for some other reason then you are wasting mine and your time.

I can talk to your mother, but Ms. Martin if you have no interest in work then please stop wasting time."

Ashley sighed as was done being looked down by Bryan, Bryan was her mate and he should be proud of her and respect her.

And here she was making him disappointed in her more and more.

Ashley was not used to work for something she really wanted but this time, it was her mate.

She can't lose him and so she looked at him, "give me one last chance Mr. Shaw and I promise that I will prove it to you that I am not that useless."

Bryan raised an eyebrow, "are you sure?"

Ashley smirked, "I am sure, I am the daughter of Ava Martin, and just because I don't show it does not mean that I am completely useless."

Bryan nodded, "fine then, I am giving you a month and I will give you some tasks, if you are able to get them done with in the time limit I will agree that you are not that useless but if you fail even one task, then you will have to go back."

Ashley nodded, "Fine deal." She said and Bryan smiled, "you are dismissed."

Ashley then turned around and walked out of his office.

Bryan smiled as he saw her leave, before he got to work, his phone suddenly rang, and when he saw who was calling he quickly picked up the call and said, "where the hell are you?"

He asked with anger and in return, he heard a chuckle, and a woman's voice, "is that the way you talk to your mother?"

"You are not my mother when are you going to understand that?!" Bryan said, "and where were you when I had contacted you a few days ago!"

"I am on a vacation and I had kept my phone away, let me guess it was your troublesome brother again?"

"We had an agreement, I will do what you want and you will have to cure Aaron whenever he was in pain and you violated that rule!"

"I told you that I was on a vacation and I had kept my phone aside, Aaron was fine these days so I had thought that he will be okay, that's why I left, now it's not my fault that he is so weak and fragile.

And honestly Bryan you should just get rid of that burden!"

"SHUT UP!" Bryan screamed with rage, "don't expect any money from me this time!"

He said and disconnected the call he could hear his mother protest but he didn't bother to hear.
