Chapter Twenty-Two

I worked in the office all morning before I finally took a break at lunchtime when Gram came to me and told me that the work in dad's office was finished and it was ready for a final inspection. I quickly went with her and looked around with a large smile and teary eyes as I saw the Ravenfield desk back in its rightful place. The office no longer smelled of Silas and finally, the last remnants of him in my life were gone, all except for the bond braid which I had safely tucked away in a memory box. Despite the history, he still meant something to me and I was sad for what could have been if things were different. Despite all of that I was happy to be done with it and heading into a new chapter of my life.
