Lara's POV

"That's right," Beta Draven said, rising to his feet, the other man behind him doing the same in perfect sync. "You are the lost princess of the Moonshade clan. Your father is the great Alpha Darius Rowan. He has been looking for you."

I stared at him.

I heard the words from him clearly. But then, you know there is a distance between hearing something and actually being able to let it land, and right now that distance felt enormous. I had lived my entire life believing I was nobody's

  • The Alpha Regrets; He Wants His Luna Back.   Chapter 16 — A huge pack of werewolves just breached our border.

Author's POV"Well, that's it." Alpha Darius Rowan said, his eyes moving over the paper in his hands for what must have been the third or fourth time, like he needed to keep reading it to believe it. "Every detail fits. And so, it means that my long lost daughter, the princess of the Moonshade wolf clan, has been seen after all these years."He couldn't take his eyes off the file. Not the summary, not the name at the top, not any of it. He had read reports like this hundreds of times over the years — leads that came in, details that looked promising, trails that always went cold before they led anywhere meaningful. But this one was different. He could feel the difference in his chest the way an Alpha feels things that actually matter.---PERSONAL FILEName: LaraAge: 27Marital Status: Married.Husband: Alpha Lucien of the Wildfang wolf clan.Clan Status: Lun

  • The Alpha Regrets; He Wants His Luna Back.   Chapter 15 — This is goodbye, Lucien.

Alpha Lucien's POVSomething was wrong.I had performed the expulsion ritual before. Not often … it was not something any Alpha used lightly, but I had done it. I knew what it was supposed to look like. The pain was real, the severing was real, but a person without an inner wolf should not be reacting this way. Should not be bleeding like this. The ritual was designed to strip pack bonds, not to tear through a body from the inside. Whatever was happening to Lara was beyond what the ritual alone could account for. Something about her condition was making it amplify in a way I had not anticipated and could not fully explain. The ritual should not be hitting her this hard. Even without a wolf, she shouldn't be bleeding like this. That was enough. So, I let go.The moment I pulled the energy back, the pressure in the room dropped. Lara bent over almost immediately, one hand going straight to her belly, the other bracing against her knee, and she spilled blood from her mouth onto the floor

  • The Alpha Regrets; He Wants His Luna Back.   Chapter 14 —Performing the expulsion ritual.

Lara's POV"Don't be ridiculous." Lucien's voice came out low and tight, each word bitten off carefully, his jaw working around them like the sentence was costing him something he hadn't expected to spend. Almost in gritted teeth. His eyes were on my face with an intensity that would have unsettled me a few months ago, back when I still needed something from him.But as you already know, it didn't unsettle me anymore.I held his gaze and didn't move.He continued in the same tight tone, dropping his voice lower as he stepped slightly closer. "Without a wolf, you will be torn to shreds out there. And the expulsion ritual?" His jaw set harder, the muscle in his cheek working once. "It will cause you excruciating pain. The kind that breaks you."The room reacted even before I did. The clan maids who had been standing at the edges of the space let out sharp sounds… gasps, small cries, hands flying to their mouths. Queen mother had gone completely still beside me. Even Raina's carefully arr

  • The Alpha Regrets; He Wants His Luna Back.   Chapter 13 — I accept all of the consequences that come with that.

Lara's POVBut just then, Raina's voice cut in softly, measured and perfectly timed, the way hers always was when she needed to redirect a room."Lara, you must be mistaken. There is nothing going on between Lucien and I.""Shut up." Queen mother's voice came out flat and immediate, cutting Raina off before I had even finished deciding how I wanted to respond to that particular brand of nerve. "You don't get to speak here."The room went quiet for a beat. Raina blinked. I don't think anyone had spoken to her that directly in a very long time,...if ever. She opened her mouth slightly, maybe thought better of it, and closed it again. And honestly, the look on her face at that moment was something I would keep for a long time."Mum." Lucien's voice came out with that particular warning edge — the one he used when he felt someone was stepping into territory he considered his to manage. "What are you going after Raina for?"Queen mother turned to look at him with an expression I had seen o

  • The Alpha Regrets; He Wants His Luna Back.   Chapter 12 — I need her to serve as a witness for the expulsion ritual.

Lara's POVAs soon as I was discharged from the hospital, I went straight to see Lucien's mum.I had thought about it on the way over…Turned it around in my head, considered whether there was a better way, a different person to go to, a path that didn't involve standing in front of the one woman in this clan who had always been genuinely kind to me and telling her I was done. But there wasn't…as she was the only person who could serve as a witness for the expulsion ritual. And the expulsion ritual was the only way to make all of these permanent. So I walked to her house and knocked, and when she opened the door and saw my face, she already knew something was wrong before I said a single word. She stepped toward me immediately, advancing with that particular look she always wore when she was bracing herself for news about her son. "Lara, what's wrong? What did my sorry excuse for a son do this time?"I almost smiled at that…’Almost.’"Queen mother, I don't want to go into details," I s

But then, you know there is a distance between hearing something and actually being able to let it land, and right now that distance felt enormous. I had lived my entire life believing I was nobody's daughter — a girl with no real last name, no family coming to find her, no story that started anywhere that mattered. And this man was standing in front of me in a hospital room I didn't recognise, telling me that every single part of that story was wrong."He has been looking for you," he said again, like he could tell the first pass hadn't fully reached me.He reached into his jacket and pulled something out. I had assumed when he walked in that it was some kind of official document — somethi
