LOGINAria’s POV
I felt it like I saw it.
The moment Alpha Thalos stepped foot on the soil of our residence, something inside the entire pack shifted.
Everything changed. The atmosphere became stiff like time itself had paused to acknowledge his arrival. Even the air felt heavier to breathe.
My chest tightened suddenly.
Heat rushed through my veins so fast my knees nearly gave out beneath me. My fingers curled against the floor instinctively as though my body was trying to steady itself against an invisible force.
I was a wolfless girl. Only wolves had the ability to smell from distances away, but for the first time in my life, I perceived it clearly.
A scent.
His scent.
Strong. Wild. Dangerous.
It swept through the residence like a storm and wrapped around me like invisible chains.
A shaky breath escaped my lips as my heart slammed wildly against my ribs. Every instinct inside me screamed toward the entrance of the storage room. Toward him.
But I knew I couldn’t.
Not when Maria had forbidden me from seeing Alpha Thalos. Not when she threatened to label me a stray and send me out to the cursed if I dared disobey her.
So I did the only thing I could.
I searched desperately for a tiny loophole in the wall. Something small enough for me to see what was happening outside.
After a few seconds, I found one.
Immediately, I pressed my eyes against it.
The storage room was only separated by a wall from the front grounds where everyone had lined up to welcome the Alpha. From where I hid, I could see everything clearly.
The gammas lined up on the right side while the omegas stood on the left.
The Zetas occupied the middle ground before the beta walked through them confidently and stood at the center. Moments later, Maria the Luna and Selene, the cherished princess of the pack, stepped forward toward Alpha Thalos.
The moment I saw him clearly, my breath caught.
Tall. Broad. Powerful.
Even from a distance, his presence alone overwhelmed the surroundings. It felt as though every person around him existed only to remind others how untouchable he was.
“Welcome to our humble home, Great Alpha. How was your journey?” Maria asked respectfully.
“Fine,” he answered.
His voice was deep, firm, and authoritative. The sound of it vibrated through my body like electricity running through wires.
“Where are the other alphas and lunas? I do not intend to stay too long here.”
“The council must begin immediately.”
“Of course. They will be here soon,” Maria replied quickly. “Please wait patiently. As you may already know, their ships come slowly from the Reed Sea.”
She lowered her head slightly before continuing carefully.
“Do not be disappointed, Great Alpha. I offer my princess to you as a welcome gift. She will accompany you to your room and do everything you desire.”
Maria bowed gracefully before holding Selene’s hand and pulling her gently forward.
Selene smiled softly. Her fingers rested against her cleavage as she subtly exposed more skin to him without shame.
Alpha Thalos noticed immediately.
A dark chuckle escaped his lips like a king amused by the actions of his subjects.
He placed both hands behind his back and slowly circled around her, observing her from head to toe as though inspecting something newly gifted to him.
Everyone knew Alpha Thalos possessed primal instincts.
He rarely rejected women. Especially not women who willingly offered themselves to him.
And Selene was not just any woman. She was a princess.
It was common knowledge throughout the packs that if Alpha Thalos ever mated with a woman and she conceived his child, she could rise to become a luna by all means.
Unless, of course, his divine mate appeared someday.
“Very well,” he said at last as he stepped closer to Selene.
He leaned toward her neck and inhaled her scent slowly.
“Nice scent, Princess. You smell of Denmark rose.”
Selene’s cheeks flushed instantly.
“Show me to my room,” he ordered while locking his eyes onto hers.
Selene smiled brightly. This was clearly a dream come true for her.
Without hesitation, she stretched her hand toward him, gently held his wrist, and began leading him toward the VVIP guest building.
The Pack residence was massive and filled with different buildings reserved for various ranks and activities. Among them all, the VVIP building existed solely for highly respected visitors.
I watched carefully as Selene entered the building with him while Alpha Thalos’ men separated themselves and entered the nearby VIP quarters instead.
Then I saw it.
Maria smiled broadly. Satisfied. Victorious.
“You!” she suddenly called out while pointing toward one of the omegas nearby.
“Yes, Luna,” the omega responded immediately with a bow.
“Contact the Luna’s council. Tell them the Alpha is not here yet. He will arrive by 1 a.m. and they should only come by 1:30 a.m. because the Alpha will need some rest before the meeting commences.”
The meaning behind her words was obvious enough for everyone present to understand.
“Yes, Luna.”
Not long after, Maria left the first grounds and headed toward the Luna’s Building. One after another, members of the pack slowly dispersed and returned to their assigned buildings to wait until the Alpha finished entertaining himself with Selene and until the remaining Alphas and Lunas arrived for the council meeting.
I slowly leaned away from the hole in the wall and sat beside the old drum in the storage room again.
My thoughts would not stop spinning.
Thoughts of Alpha Thalos.
Thoughts of Selene inside that building with him right now.
Thirteen years ago, under the full moon, I made a wish.
A childish wish.
I had looked up at the glowing moon and prayed silently to the Moon Goddess that one day I would become the mate of the Great Alpha.
Back then, it felt possible.
But today, not only was Selene beside him at this very moment, I did not even possess a wolf of my own.
The painful thought pierced through my chest sharply.
I immediately pushed myself to my feet.
I refused to sit there and pity myself.
The least I could do was get closer.
Maybe not close enough for him to notice me, but close enough for me to see him properly. Not through cracks in a wall like some forgotten servant.
I wanted to see him beneath the open night sky. Even if only from a distance.
Quietly, I stepped out of the storage room.
The omega nearby stared at me as though I had completely lost my senses. As though I became more useless with every passing day.
But I did not care.
Keeping my movements careful and silent, I tiptoed toward the VVIP building and stopped beside the large tree standing next to it.
I intended to climb it.
From there, I could remain hidden among the branches until Selene and Alpha Thalos eventually came outside. Then I would finally see him clearly.
I placed my foot against the bark, preparing to climb.
“You!”
“How dare you spy on me?”
The deep masculine voice sounded suddenly behind me.
I froze instantly.
My heart dropped violently into my stomach.
“I was…n’t…”
I turned slowly, stammering over my own words.
Then my eyes met his.
Silver eyes.
But they weren't just silver, they were molten, swirling with an unnatural, electric intensity that no ordinary wolf possessed.
As his gaze locked onto mine, I saw the pupils contract, and for a split second, a flash of gold bled into the silver, glowing with a predatory heat that seemed to pierce right through my skin, searching for a wolf that wasn't there.
The air around him hummed with a terrifying power. This wasn't just an Alpha’s presence; it was something older, darker, and far more dangerous. The rumors were true. He wasn't just a wolf. He was a monster wrapped in the skin of a god.
“Alpha Thalos?” I blurted out, my voice a mere whisper.
Selene’s POVKael pushed me away.He grabbed the bowl of wine from the table and gulped it all down. Then, he raised his hand to his members.“By this time tomorrow, we will lurk against the SilverGold and take them by surprise.”The whole pack cheered loudly.“All hail King Kael,” they chorused.I pulled myself up to my feet.Hearing what Kael had just declared to the members of his cursed pack, I widened my cheeks into a smirk. It didn’t matter that he had just mated with me. It didn’t matter that he had called me a whore. This was my chance to get my revenge. For Aria, we were coming in our large numbers.I pulled my leather cloth up and walked into his tent. Once inside, I dressed up fully. Then, I pulled out my cell and dialed.“Mother, we will march against Thalos tomorrow by this hour. Organize your members. We war against SilverGold. And after the battle is won, we kill the Curse King and rule over Cambridge.”“Very well, daughter.”I smirked the moment the call dropped. This
Aria’s POVI stepped into the priestess's sacred room. The priestess of the SilverGold was the one who kept direct communication with the moon goddess. She was holy and pure and only allowed herself to be stained with blood on the full moon of great sacrifices.“Enter fully, Luna Aria.” She smiled as though she already knew why I had come to her.She sat down on a wooden stool, bead curtains hanging in front of her while an empty wooden stool was adjacent to her.“Sit.” She gestured towards it.I nodded and sat gently.“I know why you came. I see it, I smell it, Firewolf.”My heart dropped. The moment she mentioned the fire wolf, my fright revealed itself like a vision.I saw the giant black wolf right in front of me. Its fur was burning with fire, yet it was not afraid. It howled right upwards towards the moon. Every wolf around, including every alpha, every luna, every wolf priest and priestess, bowed to it like a king.“All hail the Wolf!” they chorused.I shook my head suddenly, s
Selene’s POVAs if that were not enough, it happened so fast that I barely had time to breathe. He pulled down his animal hide trousers and pulled out his shaft. It was already hard. It was already lengthy. Before I could prepare myself, he pulled down my leather pants and, right in front of everyone watching, he began to thrust into me.“Yassssssss!” they cheered loudly.“All hail King Kael,” they praised him as though he were winning a trophy.“Hmm... hmmm... hmmm...” I continued to hum through the sharp pain that tore into my she-wolf core.Every pair of eyes remained fixed on us.Not one of them looked away. Not one of them pitied me.I knew it.This was not the type of life to live, but it was the life I signed up for.If I must defeat Aria, if I must have everything that belonged to her, and if I must see her dead, then I had to endure it all.I had to endure everything Kael did to me, and I must not complain nor contest it at any time.It didn’t matter if he humiliated me by do
Kael’s POVI tossed four dead strays to the middle of our camp. My tent was at the edge. My cursed beta and the gammas have their tents on the sides. We don’t have omegas. The heavy bodies landed with dull thuds, sending dust rising into the air. The smell of fresh blood instantly spread through the camp. The moment the dead strays hit the ground, every cursed wolf under my rule came out of their tents, including Selene.“Four dead strays,” one of the wolves murmured.“We will feed for days and not go hungry,” he added.Low growls of excitement echoed around the camp. Some of the younger wolves licked their lips while others stared at the carcasses with hungry eyes. They knew how it was done. These were not just any strays. They were giant strays whom I'd stabbed through the heart and feasted on even before I dragged their dead bodies here.None of them questioned how I managed it.They never did.Two hours earlier, in the woods, I’d sighted them. They were lurking behind giant trees
Selene's POV"Do not be concerned about me, Princess. I am not your priority."My expression stiffened the moment he said that. His words landed harder than I expected. But it was the truth. Somehow, perhaps I was beginning to forget the purpose of my mission here.Kael and I had already struck a deal.He was going to take down Thalos. I, on the other hand, would continue to mate with him until he did that. And then, when he did, I would use that privilege to slay Aria myself. That was the plan.Nothing had changed.I silently reminded myself of that as I watched him.He turned to his wolves. They were already standing in formation, waiting for his command. To defeat Thalos, they had to train. They had to become stronger. They had to be ready in both mind and strength. With that settled, there was nothing more for me to do there.I slowly walked back into the tent. While I left the SilverGold pack, even though I was not able to take my car, I was lucky enough to have my cell in my poc
Kael’s POVFor every cursed wolf, it was a curse for us to drink from the dark waters. If not, we would rot like a decayed wolf upon the soil of the thick woods. There was no escaping it. No bargaining with fate. The dark waters had become our lifeline the very day the curse was branded upon our souls. Every full moon, every cursed wolf had only one choice. Drink, or slowly waste away until death welcomed them. That was the price of surviving as monsters.I rose from the bed immediately. The familiar pull of the full moon still lingered inside my veins. My muscles felt lighter now, yet the bitterness of what awaited us made my jaw tighten.I turned to the side and I saw Selene. We'd mated in the night and then she'd sleep on my bed until morning for when I would want to mate again in the course of the night. Her breathing was soft and peaceful.Looking at her now, no one would believe she belonged to the enemy's bloodline. Seeing that she was still sleeping, I stood on my feet.Witho
Aria’s POV“And…the wolfless servant decided to humiliate us.” Selene walked out behind him.The moment my eyes landed on her, my chest tightened painfully. She was no longer in that gown I had gone to buy for her to wear in receiving Alpha Thalos. She was now in something more like underwear. Some
Aria’s POVI stood at the center of the pack residence. My feet rooted to the cold floor as I stared up at the giant wall clock mounted on the top of the tenth-story building. Time moved slowly, almost cruelly, as if it wanted me to feel every passing second.“9 pm,” I murmured under my breath.I
Aria’s POV“I don’t understand. I cleaned it. I made sure it was—”“Shut the f*ck up, Aria.” Maria yelled. Her voice cut through me so sharply that the rest of my words died in my throat.“Are you calling me a liar?”“No, Luna,” I answered quickly, lowering my gaze.“Are you saying Selene, my preci
Aria’s POV“What are you waiting for?”“The instructions are simple.”“Sweep the floor, mop the floor and wash the dishes. EVERYTHING and I mean everything should be sparkling.”“Is that understood?” Maria’s voice sounded firm and authoritative. I knew I had to do everything she instructed within
