“…I thought he wasn’t coming.” I blurted out, my voice sounded a bit low when I spoke, glad I didn’t have to repeat my words because they heard me.

Mom turned from the front seat, she stared at me, and then over to Ocean. “I wanted him to come with us, as family.” She smiled softly and sat properly in the front seat with Alpha West.

I adjusted myself on the backseat, held the seatbelt, I felt suffocating with it around my chest, and Ocean’s gray eyes were on the window.

I tore my gaze away from him when my phone beeped with a message.

I wonder why he didn’t ask anything from what he saw, and he brought back everything I took to the party, even my phone.

It was a message from Kasper.

I opened the message.

*Sorry about last night, I’m sorry I couldn’t get to you.* I read it over a couple of times.

It wasn’t his fault, and I knew that. They just wanted to have fun, and they decided to choose him.

*How are you, Eris? Can I come see you later?.* Another message from him.

I huffed

  • The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation    The rumor

Mom stood up, she looked at me. Her gaze was calm, softened. I rolled up the sleeve of the bathrobe, and I stretched my hand toward her. Her eyes fell on the mark on my wrist. “So it’s true then.” “You went to school. I thought they told you about it, Why did you keep asking me about it?” “I wanted you to tell me. Eris. I heard it from the school, and the rumors around, there were a lot, sexual, drugs, self-harm…I didn’t want to believe it. I wanted to hear it from you. I wanted to hear it all from my daughter because I can only believe your words. Eris. That’s why I wanted you to tell me, that’s why I kept asking.”“Why didn’t you say anything to me?”I shrugged. “I thought I could handle it. I never liked the school, I would’ve dropped out if they didn’t expel me.” “You are not alone, Eris, you have me. How many times do I have to tell you that?!” “You got busy!” I dropped my hand, “I only get to see you at night, home tired, before I wake up, you’re gone, back to work, you r

  • The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation    It came back.

“Do you need help with that?” His husky voice was right behind me. I tilted my head over my shoulders and stared at him. “You can’t just barge in here like that.” “I knocked, you probably didn’t hear me.” The tone of his voice lowered as he stepped closer. “…wanted to see if you got in safe.” His eyes fell on my shoulders. “You left before everyone else did.” He nodded.“It got a little bit too hot.” He replied, and his hand touched my shoulder faintly, he had taken off the suit jacket, and just the black sleeve on. “Is that why you left?” “Did you miss me, Iris?” He lowered his head to my neck, I could see him through the mirror, and didn’t want to know what he was thinking about. His lips rubbed against my neck, like brushing against it that I could feel his breath on my neck. “I don’t even know you,” I muttered, and he stopped, his eyes flashed, a kind of pathetic look that I hadn’t seen on his gray eyes before. He stood behind me, unclasped the hook from my bar, and I hel

  • The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation    That one night

The feeling of his lips against mine was different, it wasn’t the same feeling I got when I kissed Kasper, or any other boy that I’ve kissed in school. I craved for more from him, the feeling of his lips against mine. I didn’t want him to stop, I didn’t want the feeling of his lips to be apart from mine. I wanted to touch and feel more of him with my hand, and my lips. His kiss was rough, I could taste the flavor from the wine he had, the desire in his touches, his hand from my face down to my neck, and my head tilted to feel his mouth against mine. It was like a burning sensation, running through my body. I didn’t want to stop, I didn’t want him to stop kissing me either but it was wrong. Curse the mating bond. His hand went down from my face, his forehead was pressed against mine for a second, then he pulled away.He left. The warmth I felt left with him. No explanation. Nothing. I ran a finger through my hair, and exhaled. I had let him touch me when I wasn’t supposed to

  • The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation    Same night

Alpha West didn’t cancel the wedding like we all thought he would. He changed the man and took over the podium himself. Mom didn’t let a tear out of her eyes. Why would she, She didn’t do anything wrong, though I was hyperventilating where I was seated. Ocean stretched out his hand to mine and held it. I stared at him, his gaze was fixed on his face, and his other hand was on me. He gave it a little squeeze. I batted my lashes and looked away from him. “Whatever you’ve heard or seen was a rumor, there was no sure thing that she killed her husband.” Alpha West began in a calm voice. “They just decided to ruin this special moment for me, and make that out which I didn’t quite believe and I don’t want members of my Pack to be fooled as well. All this is a plan to bring me down, and it’s not going to work and I won’t cancel the wedding because of it. We’ll change our spokesman and continue with it.” Everyone calmed, and not everyone seemed to agree with him in the hall but he wasn

  • The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation    Two world clashes

He followed me home still, I saw the shading of his wolf while I ran, he didn’t stay too close to me, he led me back home. I slid down in the shower when I got home. I didn’t know what to say or do. I didn’t want to think of anything, so I turned on the shower even without taking my shirt off. ***“…how did you get those bruises on? Kasper last night and now you?” Alpha West asked during breakfast, the wedding was later at noon, and the night was the evening after the ceremony of them being joined together. I didn’t have an appetite, and I was forced out of my room by Mom. I nibbled the food on my plate. “It was late last night, so there was a little accident after the meeting on my way home.” He lied, I stared at him, and he didn’t meet my gaze. “You’ve got to be careful.” “I will Dad.” “I’m going to join the others to take care of the hall, and make sure everything is intact for the wedding.” Ocean pushed his chair backwards, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and dropped it on

  • The Alpha Stepbrother’s Temptation    Reason why I hate you.

“You want me to reject you, give me reasons too.” He whispered, his voice was low and husky before he pulled away, and went out of the car. He shut the door behind him while I stared after him in silence. We took a slow walk close to the mansion, everyone we met on the way, had their head bowed to Alpha West. I was behind them, with my gaze on the ground. Slowly counting my steps. “Isn’t that Kasper, Eris?” Mom called my attention to it, and I lifted my head and saw him. He was on his motorbike, waiting outside the big gate. He stood up and started walking down to me, and Ocean cast a swift glance at me. “Alpha.” He greeted West respectfully and greeted my Mom as well. There were bruises on his cheek and he was trying to hide them, even underneath his eyes. I noticed that his hand had a plaster around it. Did he drive here despite it?“Why did you come?” “I wanted to see you…” He chuckled nervously and stepped closer to me while holding his helmet. He lowered his head slightly
